J35s we will get it but not anytime soon as projected in social media. Makes sense. I have been calling for block 52 upgrade to V standards for a long time and glad if there is some development to this. Hopefully 150-200 Aim120Ds should be on buying table as well. Till PLAAF integrates J35s completely into their eco system, we will buy some more J10Cs from China while Block 52s upgrades to V.

It’s completely sensible to delay the J-35s too if that means upgrading the F-16s (and possible getting some more) in the least amount of $$s possible.

Although, this is a rare opportunity for PAF to enter the fifth Gen and become the dominant force. IAF won’t be as loose as they were the last 2 times the next time we face them because the humiliation have taught them a lesson to improvise their comms, integrations.

We should always be steps ahead of them.

What ‘naraz’? Ye kia saas bahu ka drama chalra hai?

PAF already operates the F-16 with TST team operating in Pakistan. That’s the most that could be an issue for China but it isn’t!

China knows that we have to maintain relations with US more so than us because they have to maintain relations with a lot of foes too, for trade and interests.

Besides, Our medium weight fleet consists mostly of F-16s with decades of experience, training, armaments. V kits would be the best thing to happen to PAF in a long time because you suddenly jump from 4 to 8 or 9/10 on the existing fleet.

J35s will come for sure but not perhaps by 2030. We need to save some money for them before finalizing the contract. Also in the next 2-3 years we will get a better picture of J35 project through PLAAF or some Shaheen exercise. Indians also ain't getting FGFJ anytime soon so we can take a strategic pause and upgrade our existing fleet with latest tech.

Lastly we cannot ignore Americans stature not because of F16s or their hardware to both Pakistan and India but their capability to stop wars through phone calls. We need to be in good books of Americans. Buying their hardware and at times licking their feet works for us to keep Modi madness in control.

Adding to that, If J-35s are indeed not coming anytime soon, I guess the PAF will order a customized variant perhaps (J-35P?). Perhaps the systems could be of PAC origin? Especially the radars, EW suite given the PAC is currently working on them?

But why are we even associating the J-35 deal with possible F-16 upgrades? Just because a damn tweet got deleted which happened to be a general tweet talking about everything such as stock market, economy, defense etc? Deletion doesn’t wipe off anything because if we had to apply that rule to the defense systems, the other economic achievements must be met with the same criteria which would be factually false.

Nonetheless, PAF is definitely putting random things out on the SM in order to achieve something, Perhaps to keep India guessing or to get something from someone. I saw some tweets earlier today mentioning “PAF is interested in the J-16” lol.

Nothing is free in this world. They will extract the price in money foreign/domestic policy change. They want Bagram base Afghanistan so that they can bomb Muslim states in Central Asia and Iran maybe Pakistan too.

J35A is probably a little stealthier than J20A and even more stealthier than J20, but in actual combat, it probably doesn't make that much difference.

The bigger impact is likely having an interior that is designed with greater cooler requirement and power generation than something that had design frozen back in late 2000s (J20). After all, the progression in electric technology and high voltage platform in the past 10 years + modern 3rd generation RF semiconductors has been very dramatic. It would've been hard back 15 years ago for weapon designers to predict we would see this much greater requirement for cooling. You can see with 6th gen, they are making the nose section all humongous to account for the greater power/cooling requirements.

Block 52s are as good as block 70s without AESA radar. So block 52s upgradation to 70 will not cost much as compared to previous block s upgrade to V standard.
