Mujahideen who later became Taliban were made by three countries. USA armed them with weapons, Pakistan trained them and KSA funded them with $$$. Later on when USA abandoned the region and KSA withdrew the funding, Pakistan was left to deal with the mess, but now the lethal animal couldn't be controlled. If Kashmiris had any spine, or the will to fight, the insurgency in IOK would have been in full swing. Pakistan wouldn't have needed to divert fighters from other countries and backgrounds towards IOK. It was these spineless and coward Kashmiris who in August 1965 gave up positions of PA to Indians, during Ops Gibraltar. In 1999 again, Pakistani troops made gains guised as Kashmiri mujahideen, since the coward kashmiris wouldn't muster up anything worthwhile and instead of an uprising inside IOK, the kashmiris took to hiding.

The most coward muslims on this earth are Kashmiris, proven time and again since the last century.

Cowardice, limited vision, fantastical ideas, and corruption have led them into this situation. They have no love for India and many, if not most, do on paper want Pakistan, but show them a few bills here, a stick there, and some unachievable fantasies of self-governance based on ethno-nationalism and they will sell their own. The way they handled 48 will remain embarrassing for them forever.

You have to wonder why Kashmir never turned into Palestine. Pakistan had to route foreign fighters in when there are millions of Kashmiris sitting there.

AJK people are Pahari pothwari belong to Punjabi ethnic group, they are not Kshmiri as Kargal and gilgit people are not Kashmir.
The irony is that brave pahari people of Jammu fought against dogra army and contributed in librating AJK but now their pahari kids think they are more Kashmiri than actual ethnic Kashur speaking people are( dar, wani, bhut, meet) and many of them start fantasising dogra jageer (jammu kashmir) to be free from state of Pakistan.

These are a minority and very often hail from families who didn't do much in the 48 wars of liberation. Their opinion matters zero.

For me Sheikh Abdullah will always be an enigma. Nehrus obsession with a strong central government was crystal clear and nothing that he even tried to hide.

Despite this Abdullah insisted that for some reason his regions desire for a federal agreement with Delhi would be respected. At best this was naivety and at worst lunacy. He placed all his eggs in Nehrus basket and ended up rotting in jail.
