Since the lads at IDRW are a bit sensitive about their material..., I thought i'd take the liberty of giving the link.

Pakistan Air Force Faces Ticking Time Bomb with Aging Fighter Jets

Not only does this so-called "article" prove the level of Indians and their obsession of Pakistan, but the comments (loaded) at the bottom just further prove it as: a fact

Both countries have the same problem, large obsolete fleets to replace. Pakistan is better placed interms of options with J-35A's, JF17Cs and J10CEs and eventually Kaans, with the problem being the lack of money. India has the opposite problem, they have the money, but not very good options. India has really become the victim of its own indecision and posturing of possible procurements programmes that go no where. Tejas sucks in all its incarnations, Su30MKIs have proven to be the wrong platform with its elephant sized RCS, Su-57 is not a viable as a poor attempt as a stealth platform(Su-35 offers nothing new) and they really need to hold their noses if they get near the F-35A(or any American fighter jet).

Russians are aware of Indias problems with their procurement programme, hence the show and tell of the Su-57. Will India bite ?

For India, GCAP/FCAS are too far away, and KF-21 will hurt their egos too much to consider, as will the Gripen-E due to their Tejas dreams.

Rafales, are their only viable path right now with the downside of the price of the platform and it not being a stealth platform. They could go all in on more Mig-29 "derivatives" and Su30's i guess. Lets not talk about AMCA or other vapourware projects they have inflight.

If India wants to look to the future, then India could look to actually 'hedge' their bets and derisk their future procurement programmes by getting onboard with the Su-75 Checkmate programme by building a common platform with full proper technology share/TOT and with each party looking to bring their avionics capabilities to the platform in a parallel to AMCA ...

(oops - wrong thread - can mods move to appropriate please :) )
