Under the current state of the art, this option is of little practical significance. What if we mount a gun on super mushak and use them for targetting drones? or we can built one drone with mounted gun on it and used that just for drone swarm attack? it will be the cheapest solution to deter any small drones attack like kamikaze and loitering munition?
This scheme is actually a variant of CIWS. It is equivalent to moving the Chinese 625E air defense system to an airborne platform (manned or unmanned).
The main difficulty with this option is the weight of the system itself.
CIWS utilizes high velocity and large numbers of flying projectiles to form a flying shield. It requires a large number of projectiles and a bulky feed/control system. It is usually used in naval shipboard defense systems. China adapted it for land-based air defense systems (625E). And similar airborne launchers (helicopter gunships, fighter guns, A-10/AC-130, etc.) have a very small reserve of projectiles (compared to the CIWS). They are all used for offense rather than defense. ------ The bullets and the automatic feeding system itself weigh too much.
Currently, a number of Chinese organizations are developing “airborne laser weapon systems”. ------ This is a better solution.
The difficulty with the current program is to increase the power of the laser, but it is not too difficult.
Maybe, at the next Zhuhai Airshow, you might see a Chinese company displaying a UAV with a laser weapon system.
