Pakistan Air Force Transport

Weapons system
Cost is 15-20 % in engineering and 80-85% in sustainment over life so getting more is easy part but sustaining them with economy of the country in toilet , borrowing repay and to borrow more add the cost no education health to masses and population growth let’s see how long it lasts

Belgium retired its fleet of C-130Hs after 50 years of service in December 2021. Here, one can be seen participating in a multinational training exercise.
7 aircraft were sold to Pakistan along with spares and engines.

Pakistan could eye for additional units of ex-RSAF C130s, since RSAF is looking to replace their C130 fleet with C390s....

PAF has enough C-130s ~23 in number for the short to medium term.

To support an army in the access of 1 million.....23 transport ac is too small a no.

Firstly Pak Army is closer to 500,000 men. Secondly we do not need large numbers of aircraft to support them.

We have no airborne brigade, we have no massive foreign bases or deployments, we have a narrow country with decent rail and road infrastructure, so what would we need many C-130s for exactly?

Thats just PA....add PN,PAF, Rangers, F.C n other paramilitary organizations. U have more then a million men.
Not forgetting our reserves n then the armies with in the army ie ISI, SPD etc....ur touching 2 million.

So again to support such a huge no. 23 is a very small no.

What would a C-130 do that rail or trucks cannot?

Wt would a rail or truck do that a donkey or a mule cannot
Last time I checked a train could take as much if not more load then a C-130 and deliver it more quickly within Pakistan then unloading and loading at various airbases.

Maybe you can ask the donkey or mule, as you seem to talk like one.

A mule or a donkey train can be as long as one wishes n will carry more cargo then one can imagine.

U decending to the depths of stupidity n foolishness on the drop of a hat......reflects badly upon u, if u cant finish things u start for no reason

Piece of advice, if you want respect from others it should be earned, you have no right to it. If you make a flippant comment do not be surprised if you get one back. Have a good day.

well, deliver equipment that cant be delivered by rail or trucks in areas that lack infrastructure- or even places that need deployment of equip rapidly.

For the vast majority of our forces that is not the case. The argument was we do not have enough C-130s for our armed forces. How much of our standing army is in areas that road/rail cannot reach, only really Siachin troops and extreme edges of Western border, helicopters do the job here

country size Pakistan with size of military and conflicts it needs appx 50-60 C130 type planes. This number was based on assessments completed 15 years ago by PAF. I do not have the link or picture to prove it.

Strange, never hear of that report. Turkey and Egypt have similar number of C-130s as we do, same large size armies and their bases are not as close to the border as our bases, but we suddenly need 60 C-130s!?
