Pakistan and Kuwait discuss expanded defence pact, sources say

I think Pakistan’s manpower is what Kuwait needs. If things escalate more it’s possible Kuwait can face ground raids or even an invasion from Iranian aligned militants in Iraq. Kuwait cannot hold off an invasion on its own. Maybe Pakistan might ramp up recruitment in the coming years to fill gaps caused by sending manpower to Middle East. Even if Pakistan denies manpower could be part of the agreement they can be saying this for optics. I think ground operations could start of Trump attempts to take any Iranian islands or even be crazy enough for a limited invasion of Iran proper.

Its not even that bahi, I really don't have a dog in if Pakistan joins this bakwas or not. Some people really want us to flex our muscles, go for it. LOL, no skin of my teeth. I get it, people want Pakistan to manifest her destiny and work with partners in the gulf to open new doors, but what is the cost? does it outweigh the benefits?

I am simply looking at this from the perspective of someone who knows the state of our nation right now:

Full monsoon season hasn't even started yet...

To all the experts saying, “This war is none of our business” and “Pakistan should stay out of it” — perhaps take a moment to understand who is currently keeping Pakistan’s economy alive.

Pakistan’s economy is on life support. And who is providing that life support? The GCC.

Who gave Pakistan funds to shore up its foreign-exchange reserves and stabilize the rupee? The GCC.

Where does a major share of Pakistan’s remittances come from? The GCC.

Who is one of Pakistan’s most important regional export markets? The GCC.

Where does the overwhelming majority of Pakistan’s oil and gas come from? The GCC.

But yes, apparently we should pretend none of this concerns us because typing “stay neutral” on this forum is much easier than understanding basic economics.

The GCC is quite literally Pakistan’s bread and butter. We do not have the luxury of simply ignoring what happens there.

Ok @RescueRanger boss, you asked for it. Brew yourself a nice cuppa and read on, if you have the time:

These bastards kept us away for a decade, for a decade they hired INDIANS and HINDUS, empowered the Indian economy with trade and labor exchange... Then in 2021 with the rise of ISIL in the Levant and regional states now building little private armies outside of their own borders - the Kuwaiti's suddenly woke up and remembered oh yes PAKISTAN... The FRIENDLY LOCAL IDIOTS! Throw them a bone or two, they will forget 10 years of mistreatment.

Let us start with that history.

The question here is WHY did the Kuwaitis feel threatened enough by Pakistanis in Kuwait to limit their numbers? Hint: The same reason UAE kicked out a lot pf Pakistanis recently. What is the commonality in both policies?

Hold that thought please. There is more to come on that below.

Speak plainly please, this cryptic nonsense is very tiring, are you VCheng 2.0?

There is only one and only yours truly. Naqqaloon sey hushiyar rahain! :D

It wasn't if you can see what's on the horizon. Soon(tm).

It is already here Sir, for those who know. And Pakistan must position itself strongly for what is about to happen. I will present that argument below. Read on!

All this talk of cake - let's see an actual size of the slice before we talk fiction.

The actual cake is huge energy resources, the key ingredient that Pakistan needs to develop. It has been starved of energy for far too long. This cake is worth fighting for,. and get our own slice out of it.

At what cost though? Cost benefit analysis has always been Pakistan's weak point.

What is on offer here is a post theocracy Iran and the new Middle East. The costs are huge, no doubt: just look at the rate of US burn alone, not to mention the indirect costs imposed on all others.

Everybody is waiting for the rich spoils of war, which will be available soon after the present terrorist regime in Iran is dispatched to where it belongs, China, India, Europe and Russia included.

That is the geopolitical reality.

Iran has caused much mayhem and misery for the entire region for half a century, and now the time has come for it to die. It has made the fatal mistake of mixing religion with geopolitics, and no nation ever survives that deadly concoction for long.

Now let us come to the benefits. Think of what Pakistan might look like with affordable and plentiful energy: gas for homes and factories, fuel for transportation and leisure, reliable and affordable electricity. Now think of all that would follow if that were to become available.

Now, do I have your attention?

Let's keep kidding ourselves as we sleepwalk into another shitstorm!

The shitstorm s already here, and it is a big one indeed. There is no avoiding it.

Pakistan can either try to hunker down and be blown around by the wind and pelted with hailstones and hope to come out alive at the other end, whenever that might be.

Or it can run straight into the eye of the storm and find the pocket of clam that exists in the eye of such monster storms.

And yes, with our eye open, no sleepwalking allowed

We have an insurgency inside our own borders, and hostile neighbors to our east and our west. Then you want to go and play security guard for the gulf? Pray tell what do you think will happen if this war leads to a regional conflagration in the middle east and our Pakistan Security Services PVT Limited are put to the test?

What then?

Now let us bring in another piece of the puzzle for Pakistan.

Let me start bluntly: Iran is a far more evil and dangerous enemy of Pakistan than India can ever hope to be, for it relies on deceiving us as sectarian brothers-in-religion while dreaming of sharing a border with India along the Indus river. (None of our traditional motivations work against an enemy with a shared religion as they do with the Hindu enemy, and that is just a plain fact.)

Always remember Iran offered India direct access to Afghanistan via Chahbahar to cause mayhem in Pakistan, including facilitating Kulbhushan and even firing missiles into Pakistani territory.

To deal with this insurgency, we must get to the head of the snake to our West and cut it off. This is the same realization that has united all of the GCC states and Israel and USA against Iran. For far too long it has played proxy wars against all of us, and then some, to follow its own dreams of glory.

And all these people talking about LETS GO! SECURITY GUARD!!! YAY!!! Are you going to be the one taking bombs and bullets? No, it will be some young man from Kharian who doesn't even know why he is there or what he is doing there in the first place.

Think bigger Sir, bigger!

This is not the time to play the waiter at the table and refill water glasses while the feast is served.

This is the time to find a seat at the table itself and carve out a big piece of the energy pie for ourselves as rightfully as a nuclear power deserves.

Or is that too cryptic as only the One and Original VCheng can say? :D

Read on!

I am very patriotic, but I do not confuse patriotism with stupidity. All this that is going on this is not a game of checkers, its Chess... "Big Boy Chess" that some people feel like playing, these chess pieces they will burn fingers.

Bingo! Big Boy Chess. Pakistan may not be a bishop or castle in this game, but it certainly can be the knight.

Pakistan needs to shore up Kuwait's defenses, and position itself to control as much of southern Iran post war as it can with labor for reconstruction, and guaranteed access to all the oil and gas it needs for the next 100 years and more.

And it is in the right position to follow the Chess Masters to participate on the sidelines and gets its share of the spoils that are soon going to be served.

(There is a reason Pakistan has cozied up to Trump lately.)

One of the key points of this defense pact is energy security. Isn't energy security or let's put it in this way, the cheapest oil we can get is the need of hour after strait of Hormuz issue?

Forget cheapest oil. Think ownership of our portion of that oil.

Again, this goes back to my original post, do we have the spare personnel to commit to this? We have approx. 25,000 personnel assigned to counterinsurgency inside Balochistan alone. This figure doesn't include troops and personnel on IBOs and those operating in KPK and elsewhere or those who have been ringfenced to protect CPEC related operations.

How would we go about fulfilling our side of this bargain? What power projection do we have that we can extend? Tactical advisor? Personnel?

What would be the cost in terms of projected loss of lives and material in case of a confrontation? What impact would this have on our borders and inside Balochistan? Would our neighbors capitalize on this opportunity to conduct limited harassment strikes?

So now let us bring it all together:

Pakistan can end the insurgency in Baluchistan and control the wild Afghan in one stroke by helping to kill off the Iranian terror regime and its machinery.

The best part is that it does not need to do any of this alone. There is enough support and resources already solving the problem, as we can observe. Join the party!

Rest assured that India will not attack Pakistan while it diverts its attention to the West. Good Old Uncle Sam will make sure of it.

I am more concerned about what will happen to our people that what is discussed in some article. Monsoon is around the corner, we have food insecurity, energy insecurity, a rampant insurgency within our borders, not to mention energy insecurity and a weak economy.

All of that will happen regardless of what Pakistan does. It can either muddle through it all once again as it has always done, or for once, take the bold leap needed to create the energy foundation it needs to solve ALL of those issues.

The time is exactly right for this leap to take place, and it will take place soon with or without Pakistan. Better for Pakistan to be with the group, sitting at the table, than being the mere waiter, again.

This doesn't include hostile neighbors to our left and our right. Should we add one more to that list? What is the cost and what is the benefit...? That is what I am interested in.

Take care of the West, and get our share of the energy, and the enemy to the East will suddenly find it easier to make peace. Guaranteed.

Agreed. I am an old man at peace with myself. I say all of this knowing that my words may hurt and they may provoke, but they are said with the best intentions for the land of my birth and the people of my ancestry.

Circling back to my point, based on this article what would we be contributing?

Why should our people be meat shields? Is our blood cheap?

There is a feeding frenzy about to begin. Sit it out and wait for scraps again, or dive in an get our fair juicy share.

Our choice at this crossroads. Let us choose wisely.

A lot of positives there yes, what about the negatives? Is life all sunshine and rainbows?

Life is never all sunshine and rainbows. Watch out for the IRGC latrinebois here on PDF, as well as their real life equivalents in the form of tens of thousands of indoctrinated zaireen spread throughout Pakistan by Iran, and get ready to keep them under control.

It will not be easy, but totally worth it.

Over and out.

Thank you for taking the time to compile this parting shot, it will be sad to see you go truly. I wish you would stay if even if you continue to just post in the US sections or Pakistani sections.

I really enjoyed reading this, some valuable points made. It is very fluid right now, and I agree with you that there are varying creative scenarios that can be examined at a strategic level.

Kuwait is being battered and defence pact with Pakistan will save their skin. In return Kuwait can give more work visas to Pakistanis, $5bn deposit, investments etc
Kuwait hasn't given Work Visas to Pakistanis in a couple of decades.

Only to a few White Collar people.

The arrangement with Saudi is and should remain unique, and what Pakistan should be doing is attempting to create a security framework for the whole of the middle east that is along the lines of NATO where all the countries have to agree to change their conduct towards each other and adopt a one for all policy at a framework level to protect each other. ...
For such a regional security framework to work, the following are essential:
  • Iran must remove religious extremists from its government.
  • Iran must eradicate religious extremism within its borders.
  • Iran must end all support for religious extremist groups abroad.
There is little difference between Afghanistan being ruled by the fanatical Taliban and Iran being dominated by the fanatical IRGC.

Kuwait hasn't given Work Visas to Pakistanis in a couple of decades.

Only to a few White Collar people.

In June 2025 Kuwait lifted ban on Pakistan work visas. Not sure why, maybe something to do with what happened in May 2025 ;). Last year 7000 Pakistanis got work visas. In 2015? 164.

If deal is reached Pakistan share can easily be increased to 1 lakh per year.

Kuwait banned 5 countries in 2011, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan. There is one thing common here, you don't need to be a genius. Kuwaitis are not even sparing their own century old citizens. They are paranoid as **** because of Iraq invasion and Iran factor. Pakistani shias has been useful idiots for Iranian proxy wars.

But if defence agreement is reached and Pakistan deploy troops there then all that can change.

... Kuwait's diplomatic relationship with Pakistan 2012-2021:

I wasn't aware of this.

Yet another masterpiece by Cartoon-e-Azam Imran Khan—this time running to the Kuwaitis.

Fortunately for Pakistan, nothing happened over the past five years. Otherwise, a defence pact with Kuwait might well have been signed in 2022. 😱

I have no problem Pakistan profiteering not to mention to create a lot of jobs back home from selling weapons to all sides in GCC and geo-politics. but what I don’t understand is. why are we getting sucked in physically thru men and material in Arabs proxy wars against their rivals .

If the USA wasn't able to defend Kuwait, how could Pakistan defend them?
