BYD to begin local assembly of SEALION 6 in Pakistan from Q4 2026​

LAHORE, Chinese new-energy vehicle (NEV) giant BYD is set to deepen its footprint in Pakistan, with its local partner Mega Motor Company (MMC) announcing plans to commence local assembly of the BYD SEALION 6 from the fourth quarter of 2026, marking a significant shift from vehicle imports towards domestic production.

The development was announced at the Pakistan Auto Show (PAPS) 2026 here, on Friday afternoon, where BYD and MMC showcased the Chinese automaker’s expanding portfolio of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, alongside its luxury technology brand DENZA and a range of genuine BYD accessories.

The planned assembly of SEALION 6 represents a major milestone in BYD’s strategy for Pakistan and is expected to strengthen the company’s long-term presence in the country’s rapidly evolving automotive market. It would also position BYD among the Chinese automotive companies contributing to the localisation of new-energy vehicle manufacturing in Pakistan.
