He said exports of Pakistani oranges, large quantities of mangoes, cherries, pine nuts (chilgoza), mushrooms, local herbs, rice, tea, herbal medicines and dried apricots to China and Central Asian countries have increased.

Shipments from other countries destined for Central Asia, which were earlier routed through Pakistan via Afghanistan, were also diverted to the Khunjerab route and transported onward via China.

Pakistan exports 2000 buffalo embryos to China​

Royal Cell biotechnology, Pakistan has exported 2000 buffalo embryos to Royal Cell Biotechnology (Guangxi), China last week in connection with material transfer agreement between Ministry of National Food Security and Research Pakistan and China’s Royal Group.

Previously, Pakistan had exported 10,000 embryos valued at $2 million to China in phases. As per future plan, Royal Cell biotechnology, Pakistan program manager Dr Qaiser Shahzad declared China intends to import at least 300,000 buffalo embryos from Pakistan.

Given the growing demand for buffalo milk in China and the popularity of Pakistani buffaloes for their milk quality and production volume, China intends to further enhance Pakistan’s superior buffalo breed through its advance technology, he explained.

Royal Group is the only listed buffalo milk processing company in China. According to Derk Qin, Director of Overseas Business Department, Royal Cell Biotechnology (Guangxi) Co. Ltd (hereinafter referred to as Royal Cell), the sales volume of buffalo milk in China is about RMB 5 billion.

Royal Group’s buffalo milk accounts for about 60 percent of the buffalo milk market in China as a whole.

Pakistan's exports to China surge 48.7% in first five months of 2026​

BEIJING, Pakistan's exports to China exceeded $1.55 billion in the January–May period of 2026, marking a robust 48.7 percent year-on-year increase compared with $1.04 billion recorded in the same period of 2025, according to data from China's General Administration of Customs (GACC).

The surge, equivalent to an additional $507 million in just five months, represents one of the strongest bilateral trade performances in recent years.

As per GACC data, copper products remained the dominant driver, accounting for 43.7 percent of total export value at $675 million up from $393 million a year earlier, a rise of 71.7 percent.

March 2026 was the standout month, with exports reaching $361.6 million, an 84.3 percent jump over March 2025's $196.2 million, driven by accelerated copper shipments and the opening of the rice export season. April and May sustained strong momentum at $331 million and $286 million respectively, with May 2026 still comfortably above the best month of 2025.

Zhejiang Province remained China's leading destination for Pakistani goods, absorbing $480.7 million, up 40 percent year-on-year, owing to its role as the country's principal copper-processing hub. Beijing registered the sharpest provincial rise, jumping from $101 million to $232 million as state procurement agencies increased purchases of Pakistani rice and sesame seeds.

Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region also emerged as a notable new corridor, with imports tripling to $53 million, reflecting growing land-route trade through the Gwadar–Xinjiang CPEC network.

Official sources point to the China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement (CPFTA) as a key structural enabler, with $2.16 billion of Pakistan's full-year 2024-25 exports flowing under FTA preferences.

Negotiations for CPFTA Phase III, covering approximately 700 additional tariff lines, are currently ongoing and expected to further expand Pakistan's access in cereals, halal meat, processed textiles, and mineral products categories where Pakistan holds significant untapped potential.

Hangeng exports $195,425 donkey meat & hides to China​

Gwadar - In a major development, Chinese Company “Hangeng” operated in Gwadar North Free Zone has finally exported donkey meat and hides valuing $195,425 through two consignments to China after fulfilling all inspections, criteria, certifications and regulations from Pakistan and China.

The first consignment valuing $ 66.060 with net weight of 27.5 MT was sent to China on July 5. Second consignment valuing $129,356 with net weight of 67.07 MT was shipped on July 9.

A Hangeng official told Gwadar Pro that both export activity came to happen after formal lifting of ban on the export of donkey hides to China by the government of Pakistan. All donkey meat was dispatched in frozen condition through ships.

Under the agreed protocols, the Hangeng facility operates within a strictly controlled “only exit by air or sea” policy in the Gwadar Free Zone to ensure no by-products enter the local Pakistani market. Pakistan’s first China-led top-notch construction of modern slaughterhouse for donkey meat and hide was completed at a cost of 50 million dollars last year.

Groundbreaking took place on 4th May 2024 by Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh during the unveiling ceremony of the Agriculture Industrial Park in Gwadar Free Zone.

In China, there is a significant market demand for donkey meat and hides, particularly as donkey hides serve as a crucial raw material for Ejiao, a traditional Chinese medicinal product.

Pakistan, the world’s third-largest donkey-owning country, has a population of approximately 5.8 million donkeys.

Through this partnership, China aims to leverage its expertise in the Ejiao industry to assist Pakistan in formulating a development plan for the donkey industry.

This includes establishing a breeding demonstration base, training livestock professionals, setting up a scientific research laboratory for technological innovation, advancing donkey product processing projects, and promoting the export of related products.

The initiative is expected to transform Pakistan’s donkey industry into a driving force for local economic and social development.
