I think that can be the case, however I find this a double edge sword. In the one China policy the people of Taiwan are also Chinese!I am sure most Chinese people appreciate the gesture none the less

I think TSMC provides 90% of high-end ICs worldwide, which means anything from Phones to Cars to computers would have a TSMC chip in it."purchase a lot"?
The Chinese government is cracking down on pro-independence forces in Taiwan, not the people of Taiwan. So by that logic no one should take any action at all against Taiwan?

Chinese goal is to economically integrate Taiwanese with mainland China and cut her off with the rest of the world...does it makes sense ? Absolutely. It would be bizarre and a first for Pakistan to do this without consulting China. This move does not effect Chinese - Tawainese movement of people and is actually in line with the foreign policy goals of China and how they pressure other governments to isolate Taiwan politically and economically
Both Apple and Samsung buy from TSMC........Apple etc buy from TSMC.
I know some people won't appreciate this move, but I believe having a solid policy on such matters that mirrors the interests of your long term strategic partners is imperative for serious nations. China has been in our corner many times, this is a small token to show which side of the camp we are setting our stall in.
People must always remember the age old idiom "know which side your bread is buttered".![]()
Pakistan doesn't make such decisions on the fly , there must be something in it for Pakistan.Pakistan's sensitivities towards one China policy is more proactive than China.
Got to agree with you...he is very suspicious character. We were very much proving that we can remain neutral but here we go.
Has China promised Kashmir? Else China is capable of handling Taiwan on its own, we could have shown diplomatic support as usual and behind the closed doors thing, but why do this.
I remember @Michael had reacted very negatively to Pakistanis discussing or showing any support for China's internal matters. Some times I think he is an agent, who wants China Pakistan relations to tank.
