Pakistan External Debt

Quite strange following thread was claiming of debt falling, but this post claims about debt raising. Can anyone in the PDF can explain what is the actual situation ?

where are those large defense & mining deals money going ?

... and rising.

And the circular debt for the power sector is totally out of control.

sir, you are amongst the most learned people here....

I have a question for you!

has the land (& as a result people!) on which Pak. has been 'formed' was ever 'debt free'?!

question is important to assess genuineness of one's ability to synthesize truth from fiction!

secondly, a country, which is not formed, on the basis of 'sound gold reserves' which was considered as a backing of paper currency, can ever be debt free?!!

honest and dumb questions frankly!

Those are great questions.

And that is why I keep saying that the economy is designed to just slowly carry itself along, just barely, which is exactly what it is doing currently, just as it has always done.

The reason is that the whole system is designed to benefit only a few, not the many. This has been true ever since I can remember, which is a long time indeed, across ALL the governments that have come and gone in General Zia's Pakistan.

And thus shall it continue as well, no matter who is in power.

so, as I understand you mean, the best any Pakistani could offer to their children is, 'constant inflation'!

I feel figures like zia ul haq are the monsters created by ordinary Pak. who have no clue of the reality!

but, who am i judge really!

As long as the country as a whole consumes more than it produces, constant inflation will remain a permanent feature as its currency sinks lower and lower in global markets.

It is as simple as that.

the way I see it, with heavier consumption (& low characters), question of inflation is irrelevant!

ahhhh!

Our gangster politicians in the current illegal regime are billionaires with money stolen from the government.

You mean the gangster Gernaili mafia, politicians are just put their to clean their

I don't think anyone likes the design, just no one has been able to reform it. It's too much work and hassle and requires a lot political stability.

Those who know the loopholes in the system have used it for their personal advantages but that doesn't mean they've created those loopholes. They're just there and as I said, no one has bothered to fix them because it's too much effort and time consuming.

Take the recent EU and India trade deal. It has been worked on for more than 20-years. Pakistan has never been politically or economically stable for that long. Unless this changes, which I think it is finally, then we can expect small improvements.

By now, a Pakistani Government would had been stimulating the economy to hit a 5% target but not this Government. It's so focussed on reforms as it's become a matter of national security.

LOL. Any idiot can improve it since the solutions are all well known. It is just that no one actually wants the system to change, and hence they all lie to claim to reform it, and yet nothing ever really changes it. History proves it.
