I think India will use LM and drones in next skirmish, they found some success with the drones, and they will avoid sending large number of fighters, unless they are confident that they out-stick Pakistan's PL-15's. But just like India, Pakistan is making new strategies, they wont be sitting and relaxing, we have seen Pakistan getting new systems and AD's. more drones and LM/ anti drone systems are inducted, But i think right now given the region's issues/wars, I believe Indians will be avoiding a major fight with Pakistan, maybe close to next Indian elections whenever that is.

That is what needs to happen, quid pro quo plus and waiting around to see what Indians do is just not going to cut it now as Indians can absorb light losses easily. We must implement this, the moment ordnance lands on Pakistani soil, Indians will receive a $100 million shock, in the form of a precise attack on their economic nerve centers and prized production plants, designed to inflict business downtime as well as valueable equipment destruction. This is called a disembowelment strike , bleeding the enemy severely and surely.If Indians try to press on their mistake, then that can go to $200 million and so on......

India is unlikely to rely entirely on large fighter formations in a future conflict. It can lean heavily on stand-off weapons instead. The roughly 40 Su-30MKIs modified to carry BrahMos can provide a substantial long-range strike capability, while Jaguars can employ Storm Shadow and Rafales can employ SCALP.
Once Tejas enters the picture in larger numbers, this becomes even easier because it can integrate a broad range of Indian cruise missiles, glide bombs and laser-guided weapons. Until then, the existing 40 modified Su-30MKI fleet should be sufficient for a significant portion of the stand-off strike role—even with around 50% availability, that would still leave roughly 20 aircraft available.
Upgrading the entire Su-30MKI fleet for BrahMos may not be economically practical, given the nearing retirement of the aircraft and the increasing induction of Tejas. The focus will be on getting the most capability from the platforms already modified while transitioning toward newer platforms.

Recent wars have proved the above incorrect. Yes, stand off weapons can be effective but
1) They can be defated
2) They are expensive
3) You need a lot of them
Reason why world is moving towards cheap loitering drones.
Let me give you an example about your "might" SU-30 Brahmos combo and having 20 in the air.
PAF Bholari (one of the smaller bases) has 28 HAS.. Add its main hangers, control tower, runway, and air defence assets. It will need around 50 missiles alone. Now assuming some do not get through, some miss their target or some malfunction, to be safe you will need say around 75 missiles. 20 SU-30MKIs will need to fly almost 4 times, and that is assuming many do not get wiped out in the air or on the ground like we have seen.
Your maths is simply not....mathing....

So far India has used air-to-surface missiles and precision strike weapons launched from Su-30MKIs, Jaguars, Rafales and Mirage 2000s in Balakot and Operation Sindoor.
India also has truck mounted surface-to-surface missiles. These truck mounted launchers can move close to pakistan border, launch missile and relocate quickly. They can also be escorted by fighter aircraft and attack helicopters when required. Yes, such systems have risks, but they remain an option
Beyond missiles, artillery remains a major factor. artillery is cheaper than cruise missiles, difficult to intercept, highly mobile and can rapidly change positions. India has decades of experience and infrastructure for deploying artillery along the Pakistan border.
With long-range rocket artillery and precision-guided munitions, artillery is increasingly bridging the gap between traditional guns and missiles.
Personally, I think India should consider a dedicated missile-carrying bomber-type platform like B1 Lancer to launch large salvos of cost-effective weapons such as glide bombs, Nirbhay-class cruise missiles, and kamikaze drones. Expensive systems like hypersonic/Supersonic cruise missiles should also be carried but be reserved for the highest-value targets like GHQ or National Command Authority

OK, we cannot take into account wet dreams, lets stay stuck in reality here and kip the B-1.
The fighters you talk about (Jaguars,, Mirage 2000) cannot carry SCALP or Bhra,mos, they will have lighter smaller missiles, they will not have a stand off capability. As we witness, anything approaching within 200km of Pakistan will face lethal targeting.
All the other things you mentioned are not stand off capability (aartillery, surface to surface etc), they can be tracked and targeted, both sides have this capability.
I simply pointed out 20 SU-30MKIs with Brahmos is not even enough for a medium sized base like Bolhari. I have not even considered the dispersal bases the PAF will use. Add that to main bases you are looking at 25-30 air bases, many deep within Pakistan
That is a target package even the USAF would struggle with at stand off ranges. IAF has no option but to get in close, and the moment that happens, it all comes down to how many AIM-120s and PL-15s PAF can get off....

Jaguars CANNOT deploy Storm Shadow or SCAP. They can barely take off with their engines.
Give this forum a "nudge" when Tejas appears in large numbers. Infact, nudge here when they turn up with engines..

50% servicability will be at the higher end of what they can achieve, they are hiding something for sure. 12 additional SU-30MKIs were signed for in 2024, we are approaching 2027 now and not one has been delivered by HAL. My guess is they cannot get some of the vital bits from Russia, so that will obviously effect their current fleet too.
Things are so bad for them now their fan boys are on here with new IDs every second day dreaming about B-1s.
Less said about the Jaguar the better, apart from being 50 years old, as you mentioned, they are possibly the most underpowered jets in the world, yet these clowns think in Hot and High conditions of Northern Indian they will be launching stand off long range missile strikes. Even Nigeria, Ecuador and Oman decided to retire these birds. IAF would have liked to retire them at the same time, but as you point out, thanks for Tejas circus,, shit has finally hit the fan big time....

The 12 new Su-30MKIs ordered by the Indian Air Force (contract signed in December 2024 with HAL) are built to the full “Super Sukhoi” standard.
The Super Sukhoi (also called Super-30) is a major upgrade programme planned for existing Su-30MKI aircraft (initially about 84 jets, with potential for more). Under this upgrade, the aircraft will receive:
- Indigenous Virupaksha GaN-based AESA radar (developed by DRDO/LRDE)
- New indigenous mission computer
- Upgraded Indian electronic warfare (EW) suite
- Improved Indian IRST sensor
- Better overall avionics and sensor fusion
These changes will significantly improve seamless integration of Indian weapons such as the Astra family of air-to-air missiles.
Regarding the engine:
The Super Sukhoi aircraft (and the new 12 jets) will continue to be powered by the Modified AL-31FP engine (license-produced by HAL). This is a completely new engine designed by DRDO.
India has increased the indigenous content of the AL-31FP (currently around 54%) and is incorporating Indian technologies — including materials and single-crystal blade know-how originally developed under the Kaveri programme — to improve reliability, service life, and performance. However, the basic design philosophy remains the Russian-origin AL-31FP design

No, the 12 SU-30MKIs are all basic MKIs. "Super Sukhoi" does not even exist in prototype form. Are things that bad for IAF you are not BLATANTLY LYING?
