Key point is sub sonic cruise missiles i.e Brahmos. They tend to have more specific targets, larger range and way faster speeds.

Let me ask you, which person or channel in India has talked about IAF failure of not engaging PAF in the air, and i wanna know what technical aspects were discussed.
All i saw was,
- No jets shot down
- IAF used drone to mimic Jets
- No Rafale shot down
- Only one plane was hit (not even shot down)
- Numbers are not important
- ROE restricted IAF to engage PAF
- We shot down PAF planes

Now tell me which Indian channel has done anything about it? You are not even owning a single plane shot down, you havent presented a shred of evidence that PAF planes were shot down. Even the news of c130 and Saab was shared by Pakistanis, openly.
Let me know where to watch the video/analysis of Indian analyst that has bit of introspection about what happened at 7th may.

Brahmos has been in active service in various wings of Indian forces since 2007 (different variants). The thousand limit was probably crossed in early 2010-2018 itself.
