Not 100% control but overall Pakistan establishment forms foreign and internal policies, in the past they had issues with Bhutto, Nawaz Sharif on this matter and now IK. Now if we say this is not acceptable then do we want Nawaz, Shabaz, Bilawal, Zardari to be in 100% charge, this would be invitation to bigger problems. Most governments of the world do the same but since they have mature politics, the disagreements, give and take doesn't come out to the media and public.

US Army generals do not control foreign policy of USA. If you are in a war they will have a say. Otherwise they take the lead from civilian authorities

Pakistan is unique in that military brass wield the power but they do not take any accountability. Most of you were fine with the approach until Imran Khan was ousted.

My take is somewhat different. If Khan had not been so stubborn with a bad team at his disposal that he was so proud of, the US and Pakistan could work something out. Bajwa did not handle the developing situation in a better way either.

And I am not sure how PLAN will solve problems of Pakistan as it might set the stage of Cold War in the region. The US will help India develop a very capable naval force and the US is also present in Diego Garcia. And we also need to think about how the US will treat Pakistan when PLAN takes control of Gwadar.

Well done on all fronts. Deep down many Pakistani are telling each other to leave the country.

You need time and patience to develop kind of leverage, IK's policy wasn't anti-US. He simply wanted to create that leverage by making Pakistan an important player and earning that spot. Not by selling it as hired gun. IK was trying to build independent foreign policy. To build a proper team and work out on a plan you need time. You can't do anything in a country where Duffers in army with extremely limited vision controls everything and derails entire govt as if its nothing. Even a miracle cannot save such a country where you have such duffers at such positions.

India buys tons of Russians oil and even re-export it to europe and make billions. India buys S-400s or anything it likes from Russia, India has a leverage because of independent policy and now it also buys just anything from the US as well.
Basically US & Russia both knows they cannot annoy India as otherwise it already has great relations with their adversaries. You cannot bully india.

Pakistan should have such a balance too if it had an independent policy. Pakistan's geo-strategic position favors it to have great relations with Russia and China. Ofcourse US wouldn't like that and they conveyed this to Bajwa and Duffer acted so stupidly. In an attempt to please americans, Duffer GHQ seriously destroyed relations & trust with China.

Pakistan main problem is corruption, Only IK has duffers around him. The rest are not duffers but wise, cunning and experienced in corruption, maintaining the corrupt system for years.

I would advice people not to be too worried about Pakistan. The potential is so huge, the path to success so accessible - that it'd take the spirit of the Pakistani cricket team to lose from this winning position.

That's not to say it's impossible - just the opportunity to go the other way is so much harder.

The only thing in the way is the elite - if we can't control them, we need to remove them - however possible. The appeasement of the elite is leading us to economic and political collapse - so once we get there - whats stopping the alternative? Revolution, violent or otherwise?
