Did the Pakistan Navy act prematurely by acquiring the Turkish Milgem class frigate? Perhaps they should have considered waiting for the Chinese alternative. Let's engage in a serious discussion without any intention of trolling.

Tech that milgem doesn't have 😛

Although you previously stated that you weren't trolling or anything, your current behavior is quite childlike.... such a foolish act.....

My bad; I mistook you for someone who is knowledgeable with self intellect.

This Chinese frigate is stealthy, but does the MILGEM have stealth? Nope. Am I trolling?

Milgems do have a stealthy design although maybe not as much as this new chinese design. But this new design isn't for sale right away anyways. China will test and mature this platform and only then add it for its own navy.

Also, Pakistan did agreement for Milgems back in 2018. This chinese stealth ship wasn't even conceptualized by then, how come PN could have halted its plans for something unknown. You can't stop your existing procurement in anticipation of next gen platforms.

Pakistan should consider getting the Royal Navy Type 23 Frigates, if and only if they come with the Brits working with Karachi shipyard to help rebuild/refurbish ships up to the standard they were when these ships were last repaired to full standard, plus some upgrades intended for the Type 26 frigates focused around comms, EW, acoustic silencing, and perhaps even retrofitting the Artisan 3D Radar.

Also, if the ships come with Royal navy exercises, especially in ASW but also with their carriers, and modern ASW equipment like Captas 4 or an equivalent and the Merlin Helicopters for ASW.

The PN would also need these ships to be able to carry 16 cells for 48 CAMM-ER missiles.

One of the PN’s greatest assets are in the training of its men and officer corp. decades of expertise working with western equipment and being interoperable with western militaries is invaluable expertise. The PN should maintain this decades long link with the Brits to keep getting cutting edge ASW equipment and training. ASW is coming back in a big way over the next 10 years, and being a beneficiary of the relearning of ASW by NATO navies will be very important for our need to deal with Indian subs based on Russian designs, something the Brits are experts in dealing with).

What is learned from this experience be applied to the rest of the fleet and/or future projects.

Any indication an ASW version of the Asmats could be built?

Using dipping sonar from the Z-9 and carrying heavy weight long range torpedos (like the Italian Black Shark or Turkish Akya), it could be a formidable and affordable ASW escort or ships in the EEZ or escorting to the Red Sea; helping with a bastion strategy for our second strike capability. A similar concept to what a European company proposed.
