It makes me wonder why PN didn't go for the Type 54A from the beginning rather then the Zulfiqar class which are essentially glorified Corvettes, they are essentially limited to anti piracy or making sure PN has a presence in International exercises, in any actual conflict they are nothing more then floating targets.

A Single JCF or Type 54A Is more then the entire Z class fleet.

How many times are we gonna see C-802s and FM-90s launched from these Zulfiquars. I hope they realize how outdated this weapons fit is.

Simply no money to upgrade them right now, A Serious upgrade replacing the FM-90s with a 12-16 cell CAMM-ER and the 802s with either SMASH or CM-302s would be ideal

A more simpler and more realistic upgrade would just be replacing the FM-90 with a FL-3000N in a 24 cell config.

On a another note I really wish the PN had gone with missile based CIWS for the Tugril, baburs and JCFs, the recent Iran conflict has Shown Gun based CIWS like the Phalanx struggling to defend bases from even drones.

Useful for patrol and escort in a permisable envoironment as they are doing now, but yeah, you are right, outdated. Issue is Navy has small budget right now and Hangor and Sea Sultan projects are massive, so sucked up a lot of funds I imagine.

Navy still flying ancient Sea Kings when everyone else (even Indians) have retired them. So great situation in some areas (Chinese/Turkish Frigates, New sub, New MPAs) but bad in other areas

AFAIK ciws on zulfiqar are type 730 or 1130. These are really good against ashm. With 2 on single zulfiqar class provide great support. It may not be good against jets and c802 may have limited range but its not teethless.

And these guns are way way better than ak630 or kashtan.

Same is case pak went for tpe 1130 in tughril class.

if such big ships are bought and then pn had no money for fl3000n is pure b.s.

Maybe against subsonics but they have very little chance against supersonic threats the PN is facing.

Also the CIWS on the Z and T class are on opposite sides of each other meaning despite having two guns only one can engage a projectile Coming at them from one side.

as for the C802s their range is pretty abysmal I doubt any ship will be able to get in position to fire them and even if they did the subsonics don't stand much of a chance of getting through against IN ships equipped with Barak 8s.

Also pretending money isn't an issue because they are "big ships" Is stupid, as @Ak01 stated before the Tugrils aren't equipped with Towed array sonars because of the aforementioned financial issues.

Most Navies that are expecting to see combat have already Switched to missile based CIWS because not only are they more capable but Even more importantly they can engage multiple targets unlike the gun ones.
