Pakistan’s nuclear doctrine has been dated and confirmed by the fact that there is space for limited conflict staying conventional.

While during conventional conflicts, what eventually revealed was that Pakistan could hold its own and control of the escalation ladder. The Indians jumped up the ladder too quickly that exposed the limited options they had. (One doesn’t fire Brahmos a nuclear capable missile so early in the conflict)

The Pakistan side has found its shortcomings and closing this gap with fielding conventional rocket space, subsonic, supersonic, hypersonic vectors, in numbers. Eventually, this closes the space that Indians wanted to conduct deep strikes within Pakistan as they see fit. Attacking Pakistan through the air, and you got PAF. Attacking through land or via ALBM through standoff ranges and you got the Rocket Force in numbers and with ranges targeting economic centers. The Navy seems to be the weak link but even that arm is fielding missiles in numbers and ranges enough to keep their counterparts at bay.

The challenge for Pakistan is to technically keep the limited conflict and excel in that theatre. An all out war is a very remote possibility in my opinion as the adversary has too much to lose.

Taking a macro view, modern wars are not about losing or winning. They are fought within the prism of diplomacy. Pakistan in swift retort and marka e haq achieved a diplomatic victory and its narrative was furthered on the world stage as opposed to its adversary.

But there are still some pains Pakistan has to endure (IWT suspension) that it will need an answer to, eventually.

Biggest issue for both Pakistan and India is that redline border is not even 1 km. If anyone of the country decides and goes suicidal mode than both Pakistan and India won't survive regardless of several trillion dollar India holds. Border distance is main difference.

It's well known fact that In the early part of the war, when Russia took the greatest losses, NATO help was non-existent, as they were taken by surprise and NATO could not react.

Early Western aid mainly consisted of portable defensive weapons such as the FGM-148 Javelin and NLAW, plus ammunition, intelligence sharing, and financial support.
Heavy Western equipment had not yet arrived in significant numbers until mid way through the war.

Russia held the following advantages;
Personnel: roughly parity overall (about 1:1).
Tanks and armoured vehicles: roughly 1.5–2:1 Russia.
Artillery: roughly 2–3:1 Russia.
Combat aircraft: roughly 3–5:1 Russia.


Now look at the damage Ukraine has done to Russia, what do you think Pakistan could do to Indian forces? No wonder your military chiefs were eager to a ceasefire even though supposedly having Pakistan on the backfoot. BS that only your people believe and the world laughed at.

@Waz is right Russia has pratically lost to Ukraine even though Ukraine has roughly 60 fighter jets only and no nuclear. Russia cannot use Nuclear against Ukraine is because it share border and it will have after effects deaths in Russia as well.

The Russians failed in Ukraine for the same reasons that the US/Israelis failed in Iran, culmination, i.e exhausting your military capability without achieving your strategic objectives, resulting in essentially stalemate. Whats the point discussing Russ-Ukraine here anyways. India isn't Russia and Pakistan isn't Ukraine. Russian airforce far better / bigger than IAF, Russian nuclear forces gigantic vs Indians, Russian missile force far better, Russia has hypersonics. India on other hand use primarily russian tech like old russian tech P-900 for its Brahmos missile a JV with Russia, Also the airforce is filled with Russian junk like Sukhois, Migs etc.

Ukraine isn't even nuclear power, it's airpower can't be compared with Pakistan. Handful of old russian aircrafts.

So comparing Rus-Ukraine war in sub-continent context does not make sense. Russia has obvious advantages over Ukraine. But Pakistan & India are rivals of equal category when it comes to military might. They are nothing like Russia and Ukraine. Only lesson which india can learn from Russia-Ukraine war is that if it takes more than 3 years for Russia and still away from a decisive victory that even requires help of North Koreans, Iranians then what chances india could even dream of against Pakistan.
