Pakistan-Saudi Arabia mutual defense pact: News & Discussion

what is your proposal in minimising collateral?
although, this scene looks rather unwanted

but, it reveals, one big key weakness of a monster (which had not revealed itself at that point in the movie!)

but for this weakness to appear (manifest), our protagonist (fire fighter) needs to perform badly!

so, essentially, there are more than 1 fire fighters!

Yeah, they couldn't even get UAE and Oman to sign on, or the US or NATO allies. This seems like more of a limited diplomatic statement. I am guessing military operations against Houthis will be limited to Saudi and American forces. Can't really imagine Bangladesh deploying their naval assets against the Houthis.
Yemen, Djibouti, Somalia, Nigeria and Sudan don't even have a Navy to contribute. And how will Qatar or Bahrain or Kuwait get their Navy ships out of Hormuz so they can patrol the Red Sea ?

This comical alliance reminds me of Iraq 2003 when nobody relevant wanted to join Dubya's war so he came up with the Coalition of the Willing, which included such heavyweights as Afghanistan, Latvia, Estonia, Eritrea, Nicaragua, Marshall Islands, Uzbekistan lol.

I am sorry but some Pakistani's has totally become absolute Chutiya's, so far only the coaliation is announced and Pakistan hasn't even fired a single bullet towards Iran or Houthi's, and here Pakistani's are fighting like dogs and cursing their own country, Iranian cucks in almost every thread blast their own country Pakistan if Pakistan just condemned attacks on civilian structure or not say/do what Iranians wants, and on the other hand we have Temu Wanna be Arabs Pakistani's who would blast off Pakistan for trying to keep their relationship with Iran intact and not to become part of any alliance that will harm Iranian civilians.

Pakistani's interests should be Pakistan first, not Iran not KSA... and those who often critcize of so call moral delimma that Pakistan should side with the victim side, there is no victims here... everyone has dirt on their hands which include Pakistan as well.

The problem with that analogy is that it fails. The guy that you are actually have tangible skills and the rich friends have numbers on a spreadsheet. You have lots of guns and ammo. And a garden which keeps you fed, if not overmuch fed. You credit card is maxed out, but its with a small limit and you have never missed a payment.
Your house looks dilapidated, but the roof keeps out the rain., Your car is rickety and old, but it is very reliable and goes anywhere, while you friedn masarati needsnpoerfct roads,.
There is a reason why when there is an actual problem, you are fine, be it COVID, or wars or insurgencies or financial emergencies, since tou have actual atanible assets that you can depliyt and your friends have seen it.
I dont share your optimism nor do many on the ground - but as they say "umeed pay duniya qaim hai""

create more fires outside and use more than one type of fire extuingisher

and importantly, change your fire fighter often, dont rely on any 1!

Not in a scenario when you don't have enough resources to put out the fire in your own backyard.

we are talking about a conflict in which significant number of participants believe that the world is coming to an end or a new age is about to begin. the conflict involves societies and cultures which rely on superstitions and lay dormant on ancient texts, order and prophecies.

Unfortunately - that is what is missed.
The same Iranians certain quarters of society are cheering for (in certain cases rightly due to how the conflict was imposed by Israel) is THE SAME IRAN that a few years ago was actively letting India operate networks on its soil against Pakistan.

That is also the same Iran that launched an attack on Pakistan ---

And to go further, also the same Iran that Pakistan was allowing groups on its soil to forment issues for - and also the same Iran that Pakistan was against in Afghanistan in certain areas and cooperating in certain areas.

Also the same Iran that was using its self claimed hold over a sect to push hundreds of Pakistanis into its proxy wars and even fund them.

And you can take that and apply that in various ways across for UAE - Qatar - and so on.

Nothing is a zero sum game here and no claims of "ordinary" Pakistanis work because ordinary Pakistanis will curse the US and then gulp McDonalds while leaving everybody in the dust if ever green cards are handed out.

However, states do not have friends nor enemies - they have timed interests that go beyond generations.

Very accurate post

precisely, we are always time bound and reactive!

why is that?

( i have answered this phenomenon, in the that detailed reply, which explain how inflation creates illusion of control!)

in plain terms, this is not a chicken and egg problem!

I disagree, on so many levels!

respectfully, many Pak. who earn more than PKR 300,000 with company maintained car and housing allowance excl. of salaries, would never leave Pak.!!

and even if Pak. prefer to stay outside of Pak, not many would choose USA and UK

that exactly, is the problem, painting a picture, which does not even exist!

I will bet my left arm - that if a similar "climb aboard" situation happens in Pakistan as it did in Afghanistan or Vietnam - those planes would fill so much they would not take off.
