Some tangential interpretation but…
To echo a Saudi General many years ago (written by a PAF veteran in his book) - when a Pakistani General gave a massive lecture titled defence of Makkah and plans -
The Saudi General got up and thanked him and told him no need to worry that much about it - whose house Makkah is more than capable of defending it if he wished and letting it be destroyed if he so wishes.
Makkah is not the property of muslims - muslims maintain it but they do so until Allah wills it.
Makkah has been laid siege to with blood split and it has been laid siege to and elephants ruined with stones.
It has been flooded and nearly destroyed and also survived disasters.
Even if it is nuked (as a hypothetical example - Allah controls all) muslims will still pray in its direction because its not an idol - that status of it as a common direction was decreed hundreds of years later after it was built.
Madinah - is the actual responsibility because it was built by our prophet and his property is our property.
Riyadh - irrelevant
Tehran - Irrelevant
Islamabad - irrelevant
Any mausoleums of any politico-religious leaders - irrelevant.
