Pakistan-Saudi Arabia mutual defense pact: News & Discussion

Pakistanis are Cannon fodder....
Saudi ARabia and others like them don’t need / want ‘cannon fodder’ to defend against the likes of Isreal. What they want is the ability to do what PAF did to IAF, despite having a fraction of the budget and big numerical disparity.

It’s not rocket science, brother , this is what Saudi Arabia has always done. They cannot build a powerful independent army without creating an internal threat to their own regime, so instead they rely on “defense partners” and arm them with their billions. Those billions are exactly what we need right now to strengthen our own defense production and prepare for the upcoming Indus River standoff with India.

There are major gaps in our defense that remain unaddressed due to insufficient funding. We are in urgent need of hundreds of MRAPs and dozens of attack helicopters for the eastern border. On the western front, we require additional J-10Cs and HQ-9/HQ-16 systems. Beyond that, funds are desperately needed for a new battle rifle, modern IFVs, and ground-based electronic warfare platforms. Jinnah Class frigate, Sea Sultan program, etc. Frankly, we can use the money
Just 8 billion more a year....
The possibilities....
I'm hoping Saudis could put Afghans into senses as well... Whole dynamic is changing rapidly and old name calling and scores are beginning to get redundant...

To me(and my conspiracy minded brain), my thoughts that are flowing around in my brains right now are as follows but i need a few days to digest everything to see if i am "thinking a pile of sh*t" on this all :

1) The Americans want to leave the middle east and focus on China in the east. They have been trying for years, but keep getting dragged back in.
2) Americans need someone who can be a security facilitator/organiser and knows what they are doing professionally ( Pakistan fits that bill ). They need some who can help the Arabs look after themselves. The contenders were Pakistan, Turkiye and Egypt for this in reality. They are the real military powers in the muslim world. Pakistan has good relations with all parties and has "no axe" to grind in the middle east, the other players of Egypt/Turkiye have both ego's and decades of axes to grind against each other. Most people view Pakistan as a neutral.
3) India foresaw this happening, and did Sindoor to try and discredit Pakistan because it wanted to be the security provider for the middle east. It tried, and failed militarily to suppress Pakistan, and the Arabs can see they are a bit of a joke now. Israel tried to help militarily through "supplies", and "advisors" for those supplies. Pakistan beat both India's and Israel's plans..
4) The choice of Pakistan works for both China, and USA. Pakistan has good relations with both.
5) Relations with Iran are getting alot lot better. They seem to figured out they need Pakistan's help to rebuild their military and in particular, their air force. Pakistan was one of the few countries to stand by Iran during the attacks, and that wont be lost on Iran.
6) Middle east does not see Iran as a threat to them now, it is Israel.

I expect more countries will come on Pakistan's side in the near future. Pakistan may be able to create a "MATO" - Muslim Alliance Treaty Organisation :) ...l
I completely agree with your assessment that USA wants to leave this region, and actually wants to vacate it for Israel for the latter's dirty games ( expansion). That much is spot on at least.

Only two countries will possibly attack Saudi. Iran and Israel.

Pakistan seems to have taken a side
Pakistan was always on Saudi side.. Iran was never a friend to begin with and Israel was always a foe... I mean they were literally assisting Indians with the attack back in may.

Some people are getting way too excited! Its most probably sh!t and nothing will come out of it! Calling it 'Strategic' does mean it is strategic. None of the main media sites are even reporting it!

Saudi Arabia had created a strategic military coalition few years ago! Its already been dead for years!
Wrong. Consider the timing, immediately after the attack on Qatar. SA wants to be able to defend itself like Pakistan did.

Saudis already have all the offense and defense to protect themselves. They also have America so what do they need Pakistan for ? Cannon fodder ? Bring Pakistanis to kingdom to pilot their jets and ships against Israel while Saudis kick back and relax ?

My guess is in military terms there is little Saudi can do to help Pakistan, as it's US and European aircraft are not integrated into our air defence systems and US aircraft will require permission. I think Saudi funding will help Pakistan armed forces a lot

My guess is there will be a symbolic Saudi presence

1) 1 Sqd of Typhoons, probably based at CCS
2) One Saudi Frigate at Gwadar
3) One Saudi Battalion (possibly even Brigade)

This will be symbolic as any attack on Pakistan will be an attack on these assets, also note that Saudi have sent ships, Fighter jets and armoured units to Pakistan on a regular basis for exercises, so this deal may just make these a permanent fixture

Pakistan presence in Saudi

1) 1 Sqd of F-16s that can be intgrated in RSAF air defence system
2) One PN Sub/Frigate at Saudi Red Sea base
3) One armoured Brigade

All of the above can play little role in defending Saudi in case of Israeli strike but the point is it will mean any attack will involve Pakistani forces defending Saudi. As with Saudi, Pak ships, brigades and fighter jets are a regular fixture in Saudi so this would just make them permanent

Essentially this deal is strategic in nature, practically each side can do little at the moment to militarily protect each other, but for Saudi it means a nuclear armed nation coming to it;s aid. Pakistans benefit may well be more financial in terms of funding f defence equipment purchases as there is very little Saudi forces can do to help Pakistan in war against India

Juts my thoughts

Soliemani was India's man. But he is dead.

Iran did a lot of damage to Pakistan but we can let bygones be bygones because we have bigger fish to fry.

The hype is coming from Israel attack on Qatar. Otherwise this isn't even NATO like agreement. So whats new? We will find out by next year.
Well it aint a treaty like NATO, but that itself took decades to mature.

I expect Pakistan’s Parliament to pass a resolution along the lines of a “Holy Sites Protection Bill”, which would give our military the casus belli to deploy forces in the region. In addition, we may soon see announcements of new military deals with China, especially following Zardari’s recent visit to AVIC.

If some kind of defence pact takes place , what shape and form it will possibly be ?
I hope it's not a case of Pakistani jawans (army, navy, airforce) being used and sacrificed for the defence of Saudis in case of potential attack by israelis on saudis.
These gulfies need to get off their fat bellies and start to learn and prepare to defend their countries themselves.

They have gotten so used to relying on others for everything from using foreign labour to build their country to foreign armies(US?) to protect them.

unfortunately there is no evidence of an s400 hit, but what there is evidence of is that india can effectively strike at our assets on the ground with near impunity-2000 brahmos stockpile is pretty significant.

PAF took out S400s Radar systems truck in theory S400 was out of action. Good as destroyed.
