Pakistan-Saudi Arabia mutual defense pact: News & Discussion

Stop fear mongering SC..... F35 is the only edge Israelis have in a conventional war.....if you take this edge out of the equation Egypt alone is strong enough to capture Israel in a month are so of war.... don't underestimate your own strength.
Last time Egypt tried, they were beaten in 7 days.

The Aegean dispute? Western hardware pitted against each other there. Many countries do not have tactics to challenge Israel conventionally, it is kind of psychological after the IDF showcased better mission planning and tactical brilliance on different occasions.
Agreed. Israel will wipe the floor with the ME any day of the week.

My point is if UAE want similar deal then Pakistan should go ahead, it will bring economic and diplomatic benefits. Its defence pact, not anti-India alliance.
No, saudis should have lead role which gulf countries would have "clearance" to join such pact, if this thing is meant to work roles should be assigned with precision which means who has more leverage in its own corner and it is obvious that saudis have diplomatic and economical power while pakistan has best military know how in muslim hemisphere beside turkiye.

Why would Pakistan choose to align with Iran, a state currently struggling for its very survival? With Assad’s Syria dismantled, Hezbollah in ruins, and Iraq’s PMU militias restrained by Ayatollah Sistani from intervening against Israel in the recent conflict, it is fair to say that Iran is effectively out of the Middle East equation.

I take the interview of Moeed Pirzada and Gen Tariq with a grain of salt. He did make some valid points, but there were to many conjectures and false assumptions. Pakistan Pact with KSA , doesnt mean we are nuking Israel, its a detterence. Its the largest defence pact between any two muslim countries in the 21st century. We should think about it positively.

I wonder how you imagined that I said Pakistan should take side of Iran or any specific country? I never said that. It wasn't being discussed.

Only thing was that @Meengla referred to a video saying that says Pakistan could help Iran in next war against Israel. I only clarified that with this new agreement, any chances of Pak aligning with Iran are dead.

About this agreement its more hype then things stands on reailty. People assume that now Pak will act against Israel lol OR that India will be targeted etc. All those are pure wild assumptions. Some cartoon here in this thread was mentioning that now PAF squadron is sitting 12 minutes away from Israel in KSA LMAO!. What a load of sh!t. Even if that was true, So are they going to attack Israel ? How they are going to defend the very airbase if its just that close. Secondly, what they are gonna do up against F-35s backed by whole infrastructure and so many US military bases in the region ? I am really seeing kiddish behavior by grown ups here. You don't have to agree completely with General Tariq khan but he absolutely gave clear idea on practical implications that there's no way PAF can operate in gulf without approval from USA. They have all assets deployed monitoring airspace with strong presence in the seas too. Pakistan doing anything practical / kinetic against Israel under current leadership is NEVER going to happen. Israel WILL continue its GENOCIDE and chances of Pakistan taking side with Iran against Israel are also dead with this new agreement.

If we act selfish and forget Gaza then From Pakistan's point of view, its actually good to align with KSA as obviously KSA can do massive investments in defense. But it will be really beneficial only if agreement led us to joint ventures with massive saudi investments in Pakistan's military complex. Plus we should include rest of GCC countries and remove any chances of divisions atleast within the GCC.

Having said that, it is time to look to future and my hunch is that Americans, even Trump, have the 'Israel Fatigue'; a fatigue which is distracting from focusing on China. And it is a huge diplomatic Albatross on the American neck. So why not let Pakistan be a guarantor to protect the American allies like Saudi Arabia; I don't think Americans have any interest in destabilizing Saudi Arabia even if they can't control Israel due to America's domestic politics. So it is quite possible that the Saudi-Pakistan agreement is a subtle messaging from America to Israel to behave and don't upset the Applecart of the Middle East. Israel's messianic moves have already bled America too much.

@maxpane mentioned this point and you elaborated it. This is exactly what I was thinking. That Trump is 100% trapped into subservience of Israel but he hates it. He particularly dislikes Netanyahu, but can’t do anything to stop him, so he asks Asim Munir to do something.

The pieces of the jigsaw are starting to fall into place to solve the puzzle. SAM (Syed Asim Munir) met Trump privately, then he came to the US a second time, now he’s coming again in a few days. Whatever is going on is with US approval.

We also need to remember that the Pakistan military has good relations with the US military. This is the branch of the US government that is the least controlled by the Israeli lobby. They may have told Trump to work with SAM.

It may be a way to slow down Netanyahu without incurring the wrath of the Israeli lobby.
