Pakistan is planning to offer scholarships to Bangladeshi students for enrollment in the country’s top-ranked universities.

An official from the Ministry of Education stated that they are in the process of reaching out to leading universities to finalize a proposal for offering scholarships to students from Bangladesh. The Pakistani High Commissioner has already met with Bangladeshi government officials in Dhaka to discuss the matter. According to the official, this initiative was prompted by a request from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to encourage Bangladeshi students to pursue higher education at Pakistan’s top institutions.

"We are in discussions,” confirmed another official from the Ministry of Education.

When asked about the number of scholarships to be offered, the official replied, “We are still in the early stages, but it will certainly be a substantial number.”

It’s important to note that Pakistan, through the Higher Education Commission, is already offering hundreds of scholarships to students from Afghanistan and Sri Lanka under separate federal government programs.

You could have used the funds to reverse the rise in illiteracy. But I guess Pakistan cares for other muslim countries more than it cares for itself.
