Contrary to the rumours, PAF'S ZDK -03 AWACS are very much operational.

Yaar, if it wasn't operational then would be parked in a shed or some revetment not at Taxying intersection.

Yes but do you see it getting towed . :)
i work around aircraft 24/7, just because its sitting on the taxiway does not mean anything lol. When rearranging aircraft, we will put them anywhere we can... including taxiways. So the tug not being in the frame is meaningless.

@Quwa are the new Chinese Offerings in AEW&C better now than the ones we had? Is it an asset PAF/Navy should add to their surveillance or More Saab systems are should be obtained.

I suspect PAF will likely try acquiring high-powered GaNs from the market (be it China or Europe) and then integrate them into its own original AEW&C design. With respect to Saab, but their contribution is in the design and integration layer; the core inputs for the Erieye and Erieye-ER come from other places. The PAF will work with those other places and try building its own solution.

Pakistan air force should take the PN model on the Bombardier jet and work something around it.

Am sure the PAF has enough knowledge by now on the Saab systems.

Any reason why we think Pakistan cannot, or will not build its own GaNs ? I thought that the recent PAF / NATSP Radars that were announced had local GaNs. Do you not think that is the case then ?

local design/development, prpbably fabricated elsewhere.

I am wondering if its possible if Pakistan can acquire the new Chinese Naval KJ-600 AWACS and repurpose it for Air Force use

its a very advanced unit and would work well with Chinese J35

Isn't the KJ-500 a better fit?
