Is Pakistan retiring the Karakoram Eagle??
Germany's air force is nonexistent just like their army. France has a strong navy but its air force and army lack numbers, same is the case with UK. Poland has the largest and most well-equipped army by a wide margin in Europe after Russia. However, its navy desperately needs modernization as its fleet is ageing.
Just ask yourself this simple question, why would KSA bother to even buy ERIEYEs when they not only have almost limitless cash but also have access to E-3s? The UAE could have also bought E-3s but instead, they opted for GlobalEyes. Just accept your claim regarding the ERIEYE's capabilities is baseless.
IMHO, If the planes aren’t up the mark, they might as well be retired, ERIEYE-ER be procured, and the planes repurposed into a role we also need. We need around 4 EC-130 style Compass Call (ELINT/SIGINT/COMINT) planes to jam enemy comms and breaking datalinks. Not just jam their radars, but a dedicated plane to focus on their comms within a few hundred km of the border. (Maybe three can become Pakistani Compass call planes, while one becomes a Geophysical Survey aircraft as in the PLAAF, to look for minerals but enhanced with multi spectral cameras to make the search easier)Sir I agree. Get them upgraded instead of retiring them.

With the Comms gear already installed, the conversion to this new mission shouldn’t take as long as a new build.
This is not to be a replacement from the need to acquire a platform like the Havasoj, but to build a new capability we also need.
Havasoj for jamming Radars, and this plane for jamming comms. Jamming comms could also make them good for along the western border (hopefully not across) against militants as well, especially for a major operation, such as in Baluchistan or KPK.
It can be re-designated the “ZDK-DZ”. In the PLAAF this kind of airframe has variants used for:
ELINT/SIGINT
psychological warfare radio broadcasts
command and control
IFR tanker
EW
communications relay
EW can be left to the Havasoj, but an ELINT/SIGINT plane that’s an do Psyops, and be a C3I node with comms relay ability could really come in handy, especially when controlling drones and when the enemy will also be trying to jam our comms and links with our platforms.
An ELINT aircraft like this, with the range it has could also fly out to near Djibouti and watch the operations of the Indian naval task, to gather up comms data. The PAF definitely needs more purpose built ELINT aircraft.

Not true. We have 8 Erieye and 1 Erieye ER. I have already posted serial several times before of a total of 9 Erieye/Erieye ER aircraft that we have had including one lost. Why do people not bother to read the older posts ....As per Scamble.nl dutch website ...

It seems we have ...
7 Saab-2000 Erieye AEW&C platforms.
1 Saab-2000 Erieye-ER AEW&C platform.

True or not true remains to be ascertained. I have shared my source at least. Kindly do the same. Or share your credentials to be accepted as an authoritative source like @Quwa .Not true. We have 8 Erieye and 1 Erieye ER. I have already posted serial several times before of a total of 9 Erieye/Erieye ER aircraft that we have had including one lost. That is a valid point you have raised. There is NO confirmation from either Saab or PAF, that they are getting the ER version !!!! Only that the tail fin is slightly different on the latest one. Nothing else ...
Thank you for your feedback on the issue. Much appreciated.I was able to visually verify:
However, Scramble and Asian Military Review have serials for 3 additional Erieye. So, the Scramble records have 2 Erieye we haven't actually seen (yet).
- 3 Batch-I Erieye (originals)
- 3 Batch-II Erieye (2017 order)
- 1 Batch-III Erieye (2023 delivery)
If we go by just the reliable records, the PAF could have 9-10 Erieye AEW&C right now. If we go by recent photo verification, they have at least 7.
