IBCS is the US IACCS.Programme started 2004 and If you read SAM.gov it sells it as one network that links every AMD sensor and shooter much like the PIB and fanboy claims.
By 2023, CRS(Congressional Research Service who are the people who brief Congress, not Twitter) still wrote that on Guam, THAAD and Aegis were not integrated. Separate sensors. Separate C2. That’s Patriot’s cousin and the Navy’s Aegis, on the island they treat as the China test case.
By 2025, GAO is still saying get THAAD’s radar into IBCS by 2033 so twenty years in, the finished fire control web is still years out.
This is the country that owns its ICDs. They wrote Link 16. They can legally open Patriot’s bus. They still don’t have Army THAAD + Navy Aegis on one shooter network on Guam.
India does not own the ICD on S-400, Spyder, or Pantsir. Moscow and Rafael do not hand you the launch-enable bit because PIB said “connects with.” You get a picture gateway. That’s what your own PIB actually claimed.
Now, on the aspect of - does your western neighbor have this all sorted - heck no - but their job is a LOT simpler due to 2-3 primary suppliers who have ALREADY integrated their ICDs on most levels and one is willing to share a LOT more than others.

I believe your criticism actually gives the answer to the question.
You have referred to the United States—and that is exactly the point. If even the world’s leading military power, with decades of experience, control over its own systems and access to the relevant ICDs, has not achieved perfect integration, it is unrealistic to expect India to have everything fully integrated at this moment.
But that also does not mean India’s progress should be dismissed.
Over the last 10 years, India has made significant progress in building a layered air-defence architecture. Systems such as Akash and other short-, medium- and long-range air-defence capabilities have been developed or inducted, while projects such as the Kusha missile-defence system are still progressing.
Yes, India may not yet have achieved the kind of deep, seamless integration you are describing across every system and every service. That is a legitimate area for improvement.
But saying that it is not fully achieved today is very different from saying India will not achieve it tomorrow.
These are continuous, evolving programmes. Integration, networking, sensors, C2 and fire-control architecture are all areas where capabilities improve over time. Even systems that are considered fully mature continue to receive upgrades.
So I agree with the basic criticism: India still has integration gaps. Where I disagree is turning those gaps into a conclusion that India cannot build the capability. The last decade itself shows that India has moved considerably in that direction.
And honestly, in defence technology, expecting anything to be 100% perfect—even after achieving the desired architecture—is probably unrealistic. There will always be another upgrade, another sensor, another threat and another layer of integration to improve.
Let me add china for example -.do you believe they have everything integrated?
