Not sure if it's going to yield any results. The US can simply veto the rulings. They have been consistently voting for Israel at the UN. Going as far as declining the right to self determination

Of course South Africa knows that the US and European countries will stonewall this but sometimes you have to do things for the history books.

South Africa might get the initial verdict, that it looks like genocidal activity is taking place therefore a ruling of immediate cease fire will be given, that's just important to have on record as a pressure point.

The ultimate decision will be a political one and I can't see any of the security council judging a genocide, whenever that ruling is due.

What's useful so far for the world to see is Israel accusing South Africa of being the legal wing of hamas, accusations of blood libel at non European people, threats of revenge against South Africa.

Also note some prominent British legal representation.


Pakistan has supported or endorsed this at least, the saudis have not explicitly, though the oic has.

It has and it will to some extent, why else are they bothering to defend the case.

It's also bringing to the light on record exactly what Israel is accused of.
