Constitution of 1973 as voted on by Pakistanis is the only relevant document, yes.
Yes—Pakistan’s constitution is heavily influenced by the British Raj, and a large portion of its legal and administrative structure traces back to British colonial rule.
How it traces back
The biggest direct link is the Government of India Act 1935.
When Pakistan was created in 1947, it didn’t immediately have its own constitution, so it basically used this British law as its interim constitution.
How much influence are we talking about?
A significant portion (arguably the majority of the framework) comes from British-era systems, especially:
1. Government structure
Parliamentary system (Prime Minister, Cabinet, etc.)
Role of Governor → later President
2. Legal system
Pakistan still follows common law, inherited from Britain
Courts, procedures, and legal principles come from British jurisprudence
3. Bureaucracy & administration
Civil services system (like CSP → now CSS)
District administration, policing structure
4. Federal setup
Division of powers between center and provinces
