Maybe Pakistani army is too gentlemanly
Both sides are "gentlemen" to be honest. PTI protesters who stormed military installations on May 9th 2023 left without Imran Khan being released from paramilitary custody. It was SC which intervened days later and ordered his arrest to be illegal. 🙄

Almost every Pakistani has relatives living abroad. So do you. Start the expulsion process with your own family.

Plus you guys live off of overseas remittances. So since your Generals worship money, I own them too.

here are 3 couplets from my unfinished ghazal for simpletons like you

چاپْلُوسی کِی کُوئی تُو حَد ہُوتی ہے
آپ جِسے گَھوڑی کَہتے ہیں وَہ کھوتی ہے
(Establishment)

گَاڑِیوں بَنگلوں کا نَہیں پُوچھئیے
اِن غَریبوں کا مَسئلہ فَقَط رُوٹی ہے
(awaam)

شَوق سے ظالِموں کِی غُلامی کَریں
آپ کا کیا دَوش جَب سُوچ ہی چُھوٹی ہے
(Patwari Faujeets)

Bongi after bongi. Can't keep up with Shaikh Chillis.

Jumu'ah Mubarrak guys.

The penultimate moment of PTI's downfall.

It's one thing to claim there was violence but when you claim indiscriminate fire, how is that there were no mass casualties?

The logical answer must be that the initial reports were highly exaggerated with an aim to inflame public sentiment for political gains.

lol...we know your answer even before you reply....

This is fine with you ...

Yes, I can see that it is more comfortable for you to decide what I am, or should, be fine with, or not with, since I so not know enough to decide for myself. :D

"If someone can prove me wrong and show me my mistake in any thought or action, I shall gladly change. I seek the truth, which never harmed anyone: the harm is to persist in one's own ignorance and self-deception." - Marcus Aurelius.

Therefore, let me ask again, respectfully:

Is it that YOU never get the answer or is it YOU are not ready to accept the answer?

that is not how contempt cases work. if this meeting was ordered by court all they have to do is show the document to the court and media and international media and it will work better then sitting outside jail and creating fake drama.

They've done that multiple times.

If you just choose to deliberately turn a blind eye to it and carry on with "PTI is sworn enemy of the state", no amount of debate or facts are going to sway you.

So carry on, tun kay rakho...magr aap ki sadgi par sadqay jaoon.

They've done that multiple times.

If court orders are being flouted so brazenly, what is the appropriate course of action tp be taken here? A higher court, court of public opinion, or something international? Surely, not doing anything would not seem like an acceptable option in this scenario.

They actually haven’t done it “multiple times.” Their latest contempt plea was in April, and after that the jail authorities did not stop their visits again. This narrative is simply being revived now to build momentum for the upcoming protest nothing more.

As I’ve said before, no individual or institution is more important than the country.

I voted for PTI three times and even brought my family out to vote for them. But I can’t continue supporting actions that harm national stability even if the intentions behind them aren’t openly anti national.

What are the odds that this social media overhyping will suffer the same failure as all the previous attempts?

Pretty good, I might suspect, and that is probably all that matters at this point.

1. At least 14 PTI protestors list during 26 Nov massacre were given.
2. https://insaf.pk/news/martyrs-islamabad-massacre-–-26th-november-2024
A total of six casualties due to poor conditions for 9th May cases by the military courts, including Shaikh Latif, Iftikhar, Jamshed Khan.
I don't have their CNIC.
3. I think the above death toll is enough to be termed as a mass shooting, a massacre, etc
4. Ok. The example is not valid.
5. PTI is not my party. I like IK but never voted for him. I just care about human rights. My family mainly vote for PMLN and JI.
6. We all condemn the mistreatment of civilians, whether women or not. No, it is the new norm. A namazi was thrown off from 2-story tall containers. Many women were beaten in their homes, including Dar's mother, Iqbal's daughter-in-law, etc. If you are including Fatimah Jinnah's treatment, then I accept that it has been the norm.

Pakistan is nothing but its people. If we respect Pakistan, we must respect its institutions (Army is a department). Like here, people respect their country (UK), therefore they follow its laws, courts, council, etc.
Lastly, there is ample footage of army bearing uniform personnel shooting directly during dusk. Then there were spotters on the rooftop.

Anyway, it is the government's responsibility to protect its people. If it was not the army, was it TTP?

I appreciate your effort to pull the information together. However, I don't think a demonstration on one occasion which led to Police/Rangers shooting of 10-14 demonstrators exactly fits the "mass murder" rhetoric being pushed around.

As a contrast, Do you know how many people died in the Qadiani Masla, MRD movement, or the Pucca Qila demonstration? The last one, more than 100 demonstrators were killed by the police under the orders of then Sind government in a single demonstration.

I empathize that the loss of even one Pakistani demands justice and iA we too will see those responsible being held accountable one day, however we mustn't allow rhetoric to be used to paint Pakistan as mass murdering its citizens (as in Myanmar etc.). This is patently not the case, thank heavens!

I agree Protestors are gentlemanly. They have not crossed a lot of red lines

LOL. Because he knew the degree of protests already happening and ready to explode, and he had to respect it. He did not choose to not use force just due to the goodness of his heart, but due to knowing he faced certain defeat against the will of the people.

The same basic principle applies to Pakistan as well. My point stands:

If enough people in Pakistan really want change, then no one can stop it.
Please ... it did not stop the Soviets from crushing revolts in Hungary in 1956 and Czechoslovakia in 1968

Let us not take this thread off topic, thanks.

I wonder what would the next step from PTI and IK's sisters over this incident?

Higher court: Already done...IHC orders are being flouted by an SHO (a Colonel in reality)

Court of public opinion: Last elections were a sham...the one going on right now, us ka yeh haal hai

Something international...wait, aren't we going to label him as a yahoodi agent then? Not that we already don't...

So then what is the next step that could be taken over this issue?
