Imran did a lot of mistakes and his supporters even criticised him for what he was doing during his tenure. It doesn't give the right to anyone to rig the elections and bring the judiciary of his own choice.

IK's supporters like me were wrong before, and we happily accept that we were on the wrong side of the history.

The question is, whether an independent judiciary is possible in Pakistan? Forget about Imran for a moment.. what has happened in Pakistan, no politician is safe from the wrath of just one individual.

I firmly believe that Imran khan would have lost the 2023 elections had he not been removed in 2022. Even I was not planning to vote for him in the next elections. His popularity was at rock bottom.

I can't fathom why the institution is so shortsighted.

Donald Rumsfeld, who was a US Defense Secretary, himself came boldly to defend Pakistan on the OBL Raid.

when some guy requires immediate termination they wait and try to control him ( and fail eg ttp , mujib) , and when a problem can be solved by just waiting and letting things take course they try to terminate immediately

How conveniently you ignored the rest of my post; but let me answer your question first.

Btw, if you go by the US government statements at the time (this was a time they were not afraid to criticize Pakistan openly and name call them), they saw no complicity of any Pakistani state institution in Abbottabad.

Also about the war on terror, Pakistan has operated a hybrid model throughout most of its history, with the only exceptions being the dictatorships of Zia, and early years of Musharraf.

So if you are saying Pakistan played a double game in the WOT (which they did not, and I can debate that, but this is not the thread for it), then the civilian government were equally complicit.

If OBL was in Pakistan without the knowledge of our institutions, I have serious doubts on even my existence.

And if you say that Taliban took over Afghanistan without Pakistan's help, then believe that they are here to stay. Pakistan won't be able to do much about them.

You see we humans like to be part of something, like a tribe and those youth who were frustrated with Ppp and Pmln suddenly found a saviour, a purpose in their lives. Our elders fell for Nawaz Sharif charisma and Benazir the innocent beti of Zulfiqar, kaum ki beti educated from Oxford.

In another 20 years the next generation may see saviour in someone like Bilawal, the good son of a Zardari, the son of Benazir. 1970s Bhutto and Mujib, 20 years on 1990s Benazir and Nawaz, another 20 years 2010s Imran Khan.
