Well it wasn't just one person or even one institution as you may want to "simplistically" force here. Other political and elite stakeholders were all involved. Not to mention the citizens who didn't vote at all because perhaps they didn't care who governs them.

Just ask yourself this question, who was it that rejected his retirement summary back in 2022?

Also, I guess this doesn't apply anymore?
Well, you know the reality. I know the reality.
One man is doing everything and one man can undo everything.

I don’t want to write long paragraphs. I’m a student of history, and I know I’m standing on the right side of history. And history is brutal it always corrects itself when the time comes.

When history corrects itself, so many powerful men get exposed even the ones long buried in their graves.
Those who behaved like modern-day Pharaohs were stripped naked by history, and the same will happen again. No one escapes the verdict of time.

Bajwa was also with him but I think after retirement he backed off whilst Faiz Hameed as alleged continued his links with PTI and Imran Khan. Imran Khan himself mentioned he gets info from within the ISI. So in a way he forced the current leaders to go after Imran Khan connections. What's shocking is he is recently retired DGISI, all the current guys are his own lieutenants.

Yes, Bajwa backed off and that's why he was called 'Mir Sadiq' and 'Mir Jaffar' by Imran when Imran referred to 'Siph e Salar' (the Army Chief). Imran's publicly declared logic was that Americans were removing Imran's govt and the 'traitor' Army Chief was allowing that. But General Faiz---so strange for the topmost intelligence agency's head--continued supporting Imran... And yet some still deny there was no mutiny planned for May 9, 2023.

This is linked to PTI and 9th May. Sentencing recently retired DGISI is breaking news, never happened before.

General Faiz Hameed sentenced to 14 years in Jail: 4 Accusations:
Involving in political affairs
Misusing state resources [housing society)
Going against official secret act
Harming Pakistan citizens (9 May)

We all know this is all due to maintaining political relations with PTI, in office and outside of office, although not mentioned but he is accused of 9th May with PTI, possibly military coup. Imran Khan also mentioned someone from military gives him information.

the problem is military establishment.... they are the elephant in the room

I cannot write in the Army section, so my take on this decision is simple Whoever challenges West cannot survive in Pakistan. His famous words, "Everything will be alright" while he was standing in Pakistani embassy in Afghanistan,I knew he's going to be in big trouble in future.

May need to read detail charge sheet on the basis which Faiz was imprisoned.

If he was imprisoned for being involved in political activities then I am afraid every Chief from Musharraf onwards will come under the political activities involvement net.

The technicality may be involved in political activity after being retired in direct contravention of the current Chief’s political 4D chess.

Anyone arguing army establishment not involved in political activities is being delusional to put it mildly.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that Gen Hameed has “been formally arraigned on charges of engaging in political activities, violations of Official Secret Act detrimental to safety and interest of the state, misuse of authority & government resources and causing wrongful loss to a person(s).”

“During the process, involvement of Lt Gen Faiz Hamid (retd), in events related to creating agitation and unrest, leading upto multiple incidents including but not limited to 9th May 2023 incident for fomenting instability; at the behest of and in collusion with vested political interests, is also being separately investigated,” the statement noted.

Gen Hameed chose to retire in November 2022 when Gen Asim Munir took the reins as the new army chief.

Gen Hameed’s background is equally significant in the political landscape of Pakistan. He served as the director general of the ISI from 2019 to 2021 and was known for his close ties to former prime minister Imran Khan.

His removal from the ISI chief position in 2021 is believed to have resulted in the rift between Mr Khan and the military establishment, which culminated in the ex-prime minister’s ousting in 2022 through a vote of no-confidence.

Gen Hameed’s tenure as ISI chief also brought him into the international spotlight, especially following his visible presence in Kabul during the Afghan Taliban’s takeover in 2021 — a critical moment after the withdrawal of US and other Western forces.

As the court martial proceedings commence, the focus will be on the implications for military discipline and the broader political repercussions in Pakistan.

Now the question is if the US administration would start supporting IK? If the prevailing global geopolitics is any indication, the answer to this question is in negative.

Currently, yes. Tomorrow, who knows?

How will removing the army solve the problem. The corrupt civilian leadership will sell even the tanks to make money.
Says who ? The corrupt lawless army that sells Pakistani citizens for money and has turned the country into a rent a state ?
