Ranked: The World’s Most and Least Free Countries

You are just a dumb kid. Almost 700,000 Vietnamese live in Japan, of course there are criminals among them. You expect me to post their crime list on a Pakistan defense forum?

What a moron. Your comments are nothing but flip-flops and excuses.

I hope those freedom loving gun people in Yemen or elsewhere don’t come to Denmark. They will burn Copenhagen to the ground like we seeing now in France.
Freedom means nothing without laws and order. Uncontrolled immigration destroys countries. Marcon is helpless. Europe now pays the price. That’s a big warning for Japan, Korea, China and other.

First, you cannot even differentiate between migrants and immigrants. Second, you just said those Vietnamese do not cause trouble either. Beating around the bush is truly your forte. Let us wait for @Lulldapull and see if that is really just nothing burgers like you said it was.

Concise, latest official:

1. Vietnamese ethnic in Japan:
693,800 Vietnamese nationals as of June 2026 / 681,100 as of Dec 2025
Ethnic including naturalized + Japanese-born descendants: ~710k - Japan only counts nationality, so extra 10-20k is estimate.

2. Migrants (not immigrants):
All foreign nationals = migrants: 693,800
Temporary migrants only (excluding Permanent Resident / Long-Term Resident): ~650k - most Vietnamese arrived after 2015, so PR is minority.

3. Migrant workers:
605,906 / ~606,000 - MHLW count Oct 2025, #1 nationality in Japan.

4. Blue-collar among them:
Official blue-collar visas: ~200,000 interns + 150,000 SSW = 350,000 as of June 2025
Latest: 163,154 Vietnamese in SSW1, 176,915 total SSW
Doing blue-collar work in practice (factory, construction, food, agriculture): ~480k-500k - 80% of Vietnamese work in manufacturing
Disaggregated by visa category or by actual occupation, the Vietnamese blue-collar workforce in Japan stands at approximately 350k to 500k. This cohort is responsible for the bulk of the criminal cases. That is around 50% and 75% respectively of the total Vietnamese population currently in Japan. Citing the 700k figure effectively dilutes the rate. And while immigrant populations in Europe are in the millions, that context is conveniently omitted.

Yup democracy can be this bad. It is why I hope Indonesia is not reaching this level.

Anybody can throw up a controversial pic to show some kind of narrative.

"Look at this pic from Xinjiang of how they keep the local Muslims in line and how people can say they feel the freedom to walk safe streets of China than any other country"
bayonets.png
"passing machine guns with bayonets puts Ken Abroad completely on edge since he never sees this in the dozens of other youtube videos made by Westerners showing only happy dancing Uighurs making him suspicious of their credibility"

Do we simply write off all of China from a single pic? Is that how it works? Throw the baby out with the bathwater? All of China and its government is now nullified from sensationalist pics?

It is important to compete in healthy way. But now in internet era it is so easy to make noise in democratic country where people can make money as well from there from adsense and others ( youtuber or X where more reader you get, you get more money)

Democratic can be quite chaotic now in digital world, but in Indonesia the ruling elites who have seats in parliament understand that we need to keep our democracy in harmonic way.
Opportunists exist in authoritarian countries as well. They also make money by selling stuff and farming YouTube views while preaching the government's indoctrinated views. But here is the funny thing, I know a lot of these guys eventually settle in the West, and they draw a very strict line between "jobs" and lives.

Well my post is not intended to compare both system, it is clear that democracy is what Muslim countries should pursue at this time as it shows its Islamic ideal government shown by prophet Muhammad Madinah Charter and first Four Caliph gov ( I have given the explanation in my Indonesia Democracy Sticky thread) - while I do understand this ideal system seems difficult to run before current modern times with good transportation and communication system we currently have.

I just said that we need to keep developing and maintaining our democracy and avoiding the system to produce anarchy on parliament or on the street as both debate in parliament and legal demonstration on the streets could have potency to get into chaos as well.

Regarding authoritarian system, yes currently we have North Korean, Taliban system etc at the extreme level

I am unfamiliar with the Taliban's case, but North Korea is totalitarian in character, not simply authoritarian. Vietnam exhibited the same structure before the reform. As an authoritarian regime today, it retains both a functional need for and a subtle tolerance of such "opportunists" on social platforms.

Urumqi is an ethnic Han predominant city, why do you take for granted that securities are only on Muslims? It's like saying that all US police is deployed only against blacks and Hispanics.

Main Ethnic Breakdown of Urumqi
  • Han Chinese: ~74.9%
  • Uyghurs: ~12.5%
  • Other groups (including Hui, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Xibe, and Mongols): Make up the remaining percentage.

The primary reasons that support authoritarian system is that the accusation that democracy could potentially create chaos through the freedom that the system give to the citizens.

Under democracy, the people themselves should be ready to accept that freedom, while the capable elites should be able to manage differences among themselves for greater good of the nation

While authoritarians system mostly pretty save if the population gets economic benefit from the system as the system create stability as we see on Vietnam, China, Gulf countries.

While capable individuals who seek power in Vietnam could also join the single party who rule the country instead of seeing blocking wall like happening in dinasty type of authoritarian system like in rich Arab countries.

I think in the end, it is up to the society themselves as a whole regarding which system they want to adopt. Changes usually only happens through small corridor within the nation history.

For Indonesia, that small corridor is 1998 devastating economic crisis that make people understand that authoritarian system adopted in Indonesia will produce disaster in the end ( despite rapid economic growth in the beginning and in the middle) through less check and balanced, weak institutions, etc.
