The packages and prices of the TANK 500 BlackTrail will be announced closer to the beginning of sales, which will take place in July 2024. Itelma is actively working to find alternative solutions to replace semiconductor components of manufacturers that have left the Russian market. One of the key milestones on this path was the agreement with KAMAZ on the use of a new line of electronic components by NPP Itelma on vehicles of K3 and K5 families, which fully comply with the KAMAZ requirements and can compete with the best foreign analogues on equal terms. Thus, the use of Russian printed circuit boards, passive electronic components and connectors is planned in the design of control units, and in subsequent releases microchips and microcontrollers will be added to the list of Russian element base (ECB). Today, the share of electronics is about 2% of the cost of KAMAZ vehicle, but taking into account the company's movement towards full digitalization and the introduction of elements of autonomous movement, this share will grow significantly in the future. “The most expensive parts of creating fully Russian electric car components at Atom will include only the platform, intelligent driver assistance systems (ADAS) and the Atom OS operating system.” The report states that the steering mechanism and the startup’s control electronics, which are planned to be implemented without a physical connection between the steering wheel and wheels (paddle steering) starting from 2027, will be purchased from China.
In terms of dimensions, the electric car will be comparable to the Lada Granta in the hatchback body: length 3995 mm, width – 1780 mm. Ground clearance 170 mm, wheels from 17 to 19 inches are provided. The Atom will have a fully independent MacPherson strut suspension at the front and a multi-link independent suspension at the rear. The new product will have hinged doors without central pillars.
The vehicle will be rear-wheel drive only. The power plant will be able to produce 204 hp of power, and the 77 kilowatt battery will be able to travel up to 500 km without recharging. When charging at a powerful station, eight minutes will be enough to gain energy to travel 100 km. “Atom” will cost 2.5 million rubles.
