Following the EU, South Korea has banned the supply of lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles to Russia. The largest Korean supplier of such batteries to Russia was Enertech, which has been under the control of Rosatom since 2022. The ban on supplies may create difficulties for the ongoing work of the state corporation's assembly sites in Russia, which use Korean cells, the Kommersant newspaper said.
The ban will be a trigger for investment in developments, analysts say, noting that South Korean authorities may grant supply permits for certain organizations. As previously reported "AUTOSTAT", South Korea has increased to 1159 positions the list of goods, for the export of which to Russia and Belarus it is necessary to obtain special permission from the government.
The reasons for the expansion of restrictions include the "high probability" of using these items for military purposes. In particular, certain cars will fall under the export ban. The innovations began to take effect on February 24th, 2024. The restrictions concern the export to Russia and Belarus of cars with an engine displacement of more than 2 litres in addition to the previous ban on the supply of cars worth more than $50,000.
Most of the popular versions of Korean crossovers, including Hyundai Santa Fe, Palisade and powerful modifications of Kia Sportage and Sorento, which made up a significant volume of parallel imports, have fallen under the restrictions on engine capacity.

According to the program of the Moscow transport complex development until 2030, during this period Moscow government will support the development of taxis and carsharing, including the transition to environmentally friendly electric cars.
Thus, the park of cars of carsharing will grow from 33 thousand to 40 thousand cars (+21%), and taxis - from 70 thousand to 80 thousand cars (+14%). This was announced by the Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin in his blog, noting that it is planned to streamline the use of means of individual mobility and the work of couriers in order to ensure the safety and comfort of pedestrians.
The number of journeys using MIM will grow from 350 thousand to 750 thousand per day, which is comparable to the passenger flow of the metro line. As for electric cars, today they account for only 0.2 per cent of Moscow's car park. One of the directions of the Transport Program is to support ecological cars of domestic production, thanks to which their share will grow to 7% by 2030.
To prepare the city for the mass use of electric cars, Moscow City Government will encourage the creation of a developed network of charging stations on the streets, in yards, and in the car parks of shopping and office centres. The number of charging stations should grow to 30,000 in 2030.

8da8bcb0-670-0.jpg

VEB.RF is considering the possibility of participation in the project to create a Far Eastern auto cluster in Khabarovsk, where buses of wide range of models and components will be produced with a localization level of 75%. The corporation plans to provide preferential financing of the first stage in the amount of 2 billion rubles, Igor Shuvalov, Chairman of VEB.RF, told the TASS agency.
Thus, on the basis of the new bus plant at the Rakitnoye site of Khabarovsk Advanced Development Territory in cooperation with Chinese partners it is planned to produce CNG buses and electric buses. The creation of a full cycle of bus production at the company's own base in Khabarovsk Territory will make it possible to supply the Far East market with up to 1.4 thousand such vehicles annually when the project reaches full capacity in 2037.
The project is included in Khabarovsk master plan, which was developed with the support of VEB.RF. The project is being implemented in two stages. The first phase, which will be implemented in 2024 - 2025, includes the construction of an assembly plant to produce Amurbus-branded city buses for Far East market, as well as the creation of a tourist model and its localization for the Russian market. The second phase, which runs from 2025 to 2026, includes the creation and production of current component base, including drive axles and axles, as well as high-precision and mechatronic assemblies.
Khabarovsk will assemble 9 and 12 metre gas-engine city buses. The new transport will be equipped with modern air-conditioners, it will have a low floor, all the options and devices necessary for passenger comfort and ensuring transport safety. Russian car market rises to fourth place in Europe in February

27c8e226-670-0.jpg

Russia's car market, which continued its recovery in February, climbed to fourth place in the European ranking, overtaking the UK. According to the data received by agency "AUTOSTAT" in the national associations of automakers in Europe, the leader in car sales in the last winter month was Germany, where 217,388 cars were sold (+5.4%).
As noted in the German Automotive Industry Association (VDA), the positive dynamics has been maintained since the beginning of the year, but the current result is still 19% below the level of the "pre-pandemic" 2019. Second place among the largest European car markets went to Italy with 147,094 vehicles (+12.8%). France was third with 142,597 cars sold (+13%).
If Russia is taken into account when considering the European car market, our country has moved to the fourth line of the European rating. According to the experts of "AUTOSTAT" agency with reference to the data of JSC "PPK "*, the passenger car market volume in Russia at the end of February was 103 954 vehicles (+85,1%).
The UK, whose dealers sold 84,886 cars (+14%), completes the top five European leaders. As noted in the British Society of Motor Manufacturers and Motor Dealers (SMMT), this is the best result for February since 2004, and the positive dynamics is recorded for 19 months in a row.
Despite the fact that the last winter month traditionally sees the lowest volume of sales before the March surge in demand associated with the forthcoming introduction of new vehicle excise duties, strong sales were driven by corporate buyers renewing their fleets with new energy vehicles.
