Experts interviewed by socialbites.ca believe that the Chinese automaker uses NordCross to sell cars that are already popular in Russia on the “gray” market. Founder of RogovMobil company (Sources cars from Japan, South Korea and China) Dmitry Rogov emphasized that no official statement has been made about the new brand yet, but the fact that Chinese brands decided to reserve a place for themselves creates opportunities for Russia.
“The Chinese automaker may prefer official sales of its vehicles in Russia because they see good sales results even on “gray” plans,” Rogov said.
He stated that there is currently a shortage of premium segment cars in Russia that can satisfy Russians.
“We know that Zeekr has been well received by consumers. Zeekr 001 is a great model coming to market. The Lynk&Co brand can now take part in the premium niche that is free for us,” says Rogov.
According to Maxim Kadakov, automobile expert and editor-in-chief of Za Rulem magazine, sales of Geely cars will increase “if prices are appropriate” and brands receive full promotion.
“If car prices are reasonable, sales will increase. If there is a well-thought-out marketing strategy, this will have a positive impact on sales. It is worth remembering that the recycling fee has now increased in the market and therefore the prices will also increase. Many dealers received warnings from importers that prices would increase starting from October 1,” concluded Kadakov.
