MB Rus company, which is the exclusive distributor of Chinese brand Forland, has started sales of three commercial vehicles at once. Since October 1st Forland 3, Forland 8 and Forland 12 became available for consumers. The vehicles will be offered to customers both as chassis and with superstructures from Russian bodybuilders, reports the press service of MB Rus. All Forland models presented in the Russian market are equipped with diesel engine of Euro-5 ecological class. Thus, Forland 3 is equipped with a 2,499 cc turbo diesel engine (154 hp, 420 Nm), which works in tandem with a 6-speed manual. Forland 3 is available with three wheelbases: 3000, 3360 and 3800 mm.

Curb weight of chassis is respectively 1895, 1925 and 1995 kg. The fuel tank capacity is 100 litres. GVW is 3.5 tonnes. Forland 8 already has a GVW of 7,990 kg. The truck is equipped with a 152 hp engine with a volume of 3760 cc, which is also combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The torque is 491 Nm. An important feature of Forland 12 is the possibility to install a superstructure up to 8,500 mm long without extending the wheelbase. GVW is 11,990 kg. The fuel tank capacity is 600 litres. The cabins of the listed trucks are equipped with air conditioning system.

The driver's seat is heated. Also, all models are equipped with a multifunctional steering wheel with adjustment in two directions, Russified multimedia system with rear view camera and Bluetooth-system. The chassis is equipped with a heated fuel system, active safety systems ABS and ESC and cruise control. To operate the trucks in cold conditions the thermal insulation of the cabin has been improved, the trucks are equipped with a high-capacity battery, and technical components are made of frost-resistant materials. The warranty on Forland chassis is three years without mileage limitation. Service interval is 20,000 km or 6 months, whichever comes first. Sollers localized production of frames for Argo light trucks​

Sollers has launched its own production of frames for all versions of light-duty trucks Argo. Information about it appeared in the official website of government of Ulyanovsk region. Frame production has been established on the basis of UAZ Industrial Park at the facilities of Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant's subsidiary - UAZ-Stamping Production LLC. The launch of new line will allow to localize the most important unit of Sollers Argo vehicles, and for all its modifications (both diesel and petrol), as well as reduce the time of components delivery to the assembly line and help to increase production volumes.

The planned capacity of the new line is up to 11.5 thousand frames per year. Frame elements are welded in semi-automatic mode, and electronic sensors on the control conductor check the geometry and allow detecting deviations. So far, the line has been launched in a pilot mode, but mass production of frames is planned for the beginning of November.

This is not Sollers' first step towards increasing the level of production localization. In July 2024, Sollers Argo received a Russian manual gearbox, and the production was also set up on a new production line with a capacity of up to 50 thousand vehicles per year. And in 2025 it is planned to launch serial production of stamped components, including for Sollers Argo, using Russian steel. Recall that the full-cycle production of Sollers Argo compact light-duty trucks started a year ago, in September 2023, at the new Sollers Cargo facility, which already included a cabin welding line and a vehicle assembly shop (painting operations are carried out in the painting complex of Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant).

This result is the maximum since May 2021, i.e. for almost 3.5 years. Recall that the last time newer cars in one month were sold in April 2021 - 171.5 thousand vehicles. Since then and until August 2024, monthly sales volumes have never been able to reach even 150 thousand vehicles. As for September results, they are 2% higher than a month earlier (148.3 thousand vehicles in August 2024) and 37% higher than a year ago (110.4 thousand vehicles in September 2023).

Azat Timerkhanov, head of press service of AUTOSTAT agency, attributes the high volumes of car sales in July and August to the previously announced introduction of a new recycling fee scale from October 1st. "New rates of utilization fee force manufacturers to raise prices for cars, so people were eager to buy them before the price increase, i.e. before October", - the expert notes. More than 65% of cars sold in the first month of autumn belonged to five brands. The leadership here still belongs to the domestic LADA* (35 thousand cars). Chinese Haval (19.7 thousand vehicles), Chery (16.2 thousand vehicles), Geely (16.1 thousand vehicles) and Changan (11.5 thousand vehicles) also crossed the 10 thousand mark. Sales volumes of each of the remaining brands did not even reach 5 thousand vehicles.

As for the results of 9 months of 2024, Russian car market volume for this period amounted to 1 million 154.8 thousand vehicles, showing growth of 61%.
