Russia-Ukraine War - News, Discussions & Updates

Western equipment isn't constructed for this kinda high intensity warfare with bad maintenance. Maybe the old 70s cold war equipment might work better. NATO itself has to learn a lot off lessons again. Thanks to Russia

That type of high accuracy warfare is fine with enemies who are limited in their options and abilities

When you come up against a peer competitor then it's not sufficient and their has to be some serious bulk behind the showy weapons

This is why Russia on its own has been able to deal with a 50 state alliance, because that 50 state alliance has been unable to match the mass weapons production of Russia and its allies

This type of high-intensity war, like a war of attrition, would be the type of war that NATO/West has always considered avoiding, because they do not have the necessary resources to sustain it, even at the height of the Cold War, for That's why the focus on maneuver warfare - maneuver enables the army to avoid warfare of attrition. See the Ukrainian Kharkiv offensive in 2022.

Russia is not dealing with 50 states in an alliance. Russia is dealing with a single state supported by dozens of nations in an alliance. Is different!!!

Unable to match? The US military is not at war with Russia. We are in a peace time economy. We’ve barely sent any armor or artillery.

The Russian military is at full throttle. They’ve pulled 40% of their entire armor from storage. Large portions of what remain are in terrible condition. They’ve pulled 50% of their entire artillery stockpiles.

The US has sent Ukraine $55B in military aid since the start of the war. The US spends that every year just on its classified budget.

Indeed was reading article earlier about how NATO can learn about how useful unguided artillery is when electronic jamming is ubiquitous. Dumb weapons cannot be jammed, smart weapons can.

Ukraine was attacking a lot last summer. They lost so much they cannot attack any more. Only slow down Russian advance.

GMLRs and JDAMs hit targets with over 70% effect. Air launched SDBs over 90%. An the US military has much more advanced EW capabilities than Ukraine.
