Russia-Ukraine War - News, Discussions & Updates

In the Kursk region Ukraine conquered strategically important potato fields. Ukraine will swap it with Russia. One for one swap. Fair deal. One potato for one Crimea.

On a serious note: Ukraine went to Kursk because they could. They were and are struggling everywhere else. Have a look at the topographic map. In Kursk Ukraine had a high ground and the Russian side of the border was an indefensible valley. Any defenders in that valley would be just sitting ducks. Now, look at the cost of that Ukrainian success. In the last couple of weeks Ukraine lost tons of Patriots, Himars, M270, other SAM, etc. that Russia could not find when Ukraine was on the defence. Now Russia has the high ground and Ukraine has Krynky 2.0. Strategically this might accelerate the process and, in my opinion, Russia has moved the goalposts.
