Lockheed Martin sees space as next cooperation area with Saudi Arabia after defense​


Joseph Rank, CEO of Lockheed Martin said, the satellite is essential to military operations, and now Saudi Arabia is looking to procure several other systems, including space-based early warning — a satellite that can detect regional threats before they are even launched.

Lockheed Martin has announced closing deals with Saudi Arabia’s military regulatory body for two localization projects as part of the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to localize 50 percent of its military spending by 2030.

Fantastic news. I always felt and wrote that we as Arabs should have very friendly ties with African Muslims. In particular given the widespread Arab influence in many if not most areas of Muslim Africa. Take Tanzania as an example or the entire Swahili (itself an Arabic word and the lingua franca of the region - Swahili -one of the most spoken African languages - is heavily influenced by Arabic) coastline and region, those are regions with deep millennia old ties with the Arab world, Arabia in particular, and vice versa. From settlements, religion, people to people, trade, culture, language, architecture, music, people (ancient Arab communities there and ancient African communities in Arabia) etc. Not only that some areas of that region were part of Arab states (Oman) until not long ago. Zanzibar to make an example. Comoros is a living example of such state today.

This goes for the entire Sahel (itself an Arabic word) region as well. The Swahili coastline and obviously Horn of Africa.

Arabs and Muslim Africans in particular are natural historical allies and given the future demographics of Africa (most populous continent) we as Arabs have many cards in our favour to take advantage of this relationship for the benefit of both parties. We have advantages that no other non-Africans have by virtue of history, closeness (geographic as well) and what I wrote overall.

No disrespect to any particular Muslim nations etc. but if I was a ruler of say KSA, I would put 1000 times more importance on relations with say Tanzania than say Tajikistan, Azerbaijan or what not. Therefore news such as those quoted are extremely positive.

The United States immediately resumes the exchange of intelligence and resumes military aid to Ukraine.

- The two presidents of the two countries agreed to conclude a comprehensive agreement as soon as possible to develop vital metal resources for Ukraine to expand the economy of Ukraine, compensate for the cost of American aid, and ensure Ukraine's prosperity in the long term.

Saudi Arabia is Leading data center growth in the Middle East thanks to AI.. at a yearly growth of 37%, outpacing the global average.

Saudi Arabia’s efforts to digitize its economy and become a hub for artificial intelligence are set to make Riyadh the leading data center growth market in the Middle East over the next three years.

The Saudi capital is on track to grow its data center capacity, measured in megawatts, at a “remarkable” 37% CAGR through 2027. That’s nearly double the forecast for neighboring Dubai and Abu Dhabi and outpacing the 15% growth expected globally.

“The data center is a very important part of the business,” Daniel Thorpe, head of data center research in Europe, the Middle East and Africa at JLL, said in an interview.

He added: “We are witnessing a real push towards digital transformation and for Saudi Arabia to become a major force in the field of artificial intelligence.”
“Combined with favorable government policies, the data center market is booming.”
