SMASH SLBM Testing - Nov 2025

Nothing huge, something like this (or solid rocket) for the last stretch:

Not to digress but that IS a solid rocket motor. A liquid rocket motor would have way more parts and would be super hard to do at this scale. This is basically like an Apogee Kick Motor used by satellites, which are often solid rockets. They are shaped like that because they are meant to fire for very short times.

Oh, the shape fooled me. Gave the impression of a combustion chamber.

I don't think it's Smash 2.
It's Same Smash that was tested earlier.Same design though with matured tech inside.
A 250-300km ranged Supersonic Anti Ship Ballistic missile in 2025 is not a big achievement tbh.
Easily stoppable with some good defence system in place.

So they could not stop CM400AKG destroying S-400 system but they can easily stop this modied naval version?? YEA GREAT LOGIC !!

It will take approximately three to four years to equip all four Babar classes, four F22Ps, and four OPVs, contingent upon approval for production. Additionally, there must be a shore-based version developed to complement the Harba missile. Currently, this missile cannot be launched from the 533mm tubes of submarines such as the A90B or Hangoor, unless the Hangoor submarine is equipped with one or two 666mm tubes.

Depends on how many missiles Pakistan has really but in any massed ToT attack with a large number of SMASH will absolutely be trouble to most indian destroyers with their anemic AAW suites
Great news, but what is the likelyhood Indian Navy wouldn't be able to wipe out the F22p/Babur and other vessels capable of launching these missiles?

At what cost? They cannot "wipe out" the surface fleet without dealing with PN's submarine force and PAF's dedicated maritime squadrons first. As reach of these prevent IN to go one on one with PN's surface fleet. PN's subs & PAF's JF-17Cs/ CM400 AKGs will target any incoming fleet.

It'll be a bloodbath for the gangu.

The vikrant is a liability, not an asset.

- ACs are for a true blue water navy (USA only let's be honest, with China catching up quickly) to project power. Who do they project it against? In modern times, a much weaker nation (Iraq, yemen, Gaza)

- They comprise a carrier group, including submarines and other surface vessels to complement and defend them. That's allot of resources to keep it safe.

- Pakistan is not weak. Pakistan is right next door. It will be the prime target if war is unleashed.....imagine the optics of loosing it. It will be unbearable. What can they do in return to balance it?

The vikrant is pure vanity. It will come back to haunt them. This SMASH missile has made it exponentially more difficult in their calculations. It's another headache they need to worry about.

Guys, please stop throwing around terms like “hypersonic” so causally. Hypersonic isn’t just about the speed of the missile but also the missile’s ability to change direction. In theory, all ballistic missiles are hypersonics since they travel at extreme Mach speeds.
