SMASH SLBM Testing - Nov 2025

8-16 BrahMos is alot more than what we can bring to the fight.

Also, i mean barak has demonstrated combat interceptions of smash type missiles before, so its not anything unreasonable

any US system equivalent to Barak?!

bec. israli ADS has lost credibility since last June.

I wouldn't go that far, no ADS is 100% reliable, and they defeated most of the Iranian missiles, some of course got through. The point being made is that indian navy ships can fire more anti ship missiles per vessel than PN ships.

@Corax

that is, your opinion or evidence based info?!!

any scientific principle to support, if this is your claim!

by my understanding, Isli only sustained war bec, of info, sec. collapse on IR side, not bec, of success of the Dome!

they are now working overtime to improve Dome!

ok so bring forth the evidence of the collapse and loss of credibility of Israeli AD, because by all estimations, including iranian ones, the strikes did sweet **** all

what does that even mean?!!!!

@Corax

dude, answer the question dont act like a kid or sore emotional loser!

re read it.

Israeli AD was extremely successful in its defense.

I understand, your POV! AD can be successful!

there is no doubt about this, but Barak 8 as successful as any US system, any info. on that?!!

that was the question to begin with!

800km requires targeting much more precise than just satellite and requires positioning and updates that are susceptible to jamming.
Keep this in mind, you already have coverage via other "systems" well into their ports where they will likely load any amphibious forces and further out where they could try flanking maneuvers.

Having 1000km range is one thing, making sure you can guide it to a spot where its own sensors sans positioning systems can get a reliable lock and then also have enough of a salvo to get through defenses is what matters.

Good,
We can see that it is a sea based target, so guiding via optical sensors won't be of much help.
Inertial guidance is good for static targets,
looking at trajectory this is a ballistic missile, so the terminal phase will be not be powered.

Thus, I conclude that the missile will be guided via satellites actively.
Since 390km is over the horizon limit, and the Indians will keep the carrier much further from that.

This is a good case and agrees with what the Chinese are working on these days very effectively (MANETS).

DSA - Hypersonic SMASH

DSA is reporting SMASH to be Mach 8, hypersonic maneuverable, and test fired from Turghil Class. The latter part seems aptly logical but who paid them for "Mach 8" and "Hypersonic Maneuverable" descriptions?

Even for terminal phase that is too high unless SMASH is in true hypersonic category - which doesn't seem to be the case.

Official statement by PMO said kj-500 was offered for export to Pakistan and notably that statement was redacted so likely that it ammounted to nothing

More likely it is still in progress, but he was not meant to talk about it soo openly!

After looking at the pics and the test videos...this new smash is just a repurposed fatah 2 and probably has a seeker...which requires quite a lot of effort rather then just slapping a seeker head...the newer SMASH is heavier and bulkier then the older one..thus increase in weight...
