I don't think they're going to try to take advantage of the situation, especially with the peace talks happening between the PKK and the Turkish government. Plus, it would give the Syrian government a good excuse to refuse any cooperation with the SDF/PKK. The rise of tribal forces shouldn't be a concern for Turkey; in fact, it could be a hidden advantage. The fighters in Suweida are likely the same ones who will confront the SDF in Eastern Syria soon. I can even imagine that Türkiye is somehow involved in this.Yeah, that is a possibility.
Same happened in Daraa, where Israelis tried entering a town and they were ambushed by local tribes, people said the weapons were supplied by the govt. So this may be a similar play, or they could be doing it on their own.
What does worry me, is that some of the tribes in Deir Ez Zor are mobilizing, idk if they leave their positions there, the PKK takes advantage and tries to cross the river and take areas. If they do, there need to be contingencies, especially with Turkey as a deterrent.
What’s happening right now is definitely in Türkiye's and Syria's best interest.
Israel is realizing that there are limits it can't cross in Syria without facing major sacrifices, diplomatic backlash turning any potential win into a Pyrrhic victory. The Syrian government is going to come out stronger, and these troops might end up fighting the PKK in NE Syria (tribal regions) with the unofficial support and approval of Damascus.
You know the Turkish saying her şerde bir hayır vardır?
