Common Syrian of all stripes are suffering due to wars and occupations. The Alawis turned a nationalist government comprised of Muslims, Christians, Alawis, etc. into Alawi sectarian government. Alawi a secretive sect then claimed to be Shia and got support from Iran. They persecuted Sunnis and Kurds. Now former ISIS leadership has taken control of the country and Alawi and Shia are suffering. Hope that peace comes to Syria a great nation in history.
