Syrian Civil War and The future of Syria after liberation

You can take a look at Civilian Death by Faction

We are talking about his career in Al qaeda isis nusra front hts etc etc,who cares if one group butchered more civilians than the other group you kill 1 or a million with malice than your not the good guy that goes for any country group or person.
Let’s see if he really does change maybe he regrets being part of killings that targeted civilians maybe he will become the next Mandela who knows

No its important b/c you support groups that were responsible for more death or at the very least you are will to look the other way for the PMUs, Hezbollah, Assad, etc. The numbers with the emotions removed from the equation tell a very different story.

Secondly he was never part of Daesh, Daesh hasn't formed yet, His group was literally the first group Daesh fought, when they went out of Iraq. He showed up in Iraq before the invasion and joined one of the Iraqi resistance groups fighting the coalition, the group later merged into what became AQI, and was later arrested by the coalition groups. Much of the time of the insurgency in Iraq he spent in prison and was later released from Iraqi prison by the Govt convincing them that he was a local(speaking exclusively in a Mosul dialect to fool them) and not a foreigner, after which he made his way back to Syria, this is around the time when the Syrian arab spring was starting and eventually turned into a civil war.

1. Early Affiliations and Jabhat al-Nusra:
  • Jolani was a member of al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI), which later evolved into the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI).
  • In 2011, ISI leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi sent Jolani to Syria to establish a new organization called Jabhat al-Nusra, effectively an ISI branch in Syria.
2. The Formation of ISIS and the Split:
  • In 2013, al-Baghdadi declared the merger of ISI and Jabhat al-Nusra, forming the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS),.
  • However, Jolani rejected this merger and instead pledged allegiance to al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri, leading to a split between Jabhat al-Nusra and ISIS.
3. Jabhat al-Nusra's Evolution:
  • Following the split with ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra remained an al-Qaeda affiliate in Syria.
  • In 2017, Jolani's group rebranded itself as Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).
So he was part Isis in Iraq when he went to Syria he decided not to merge with Isis in Syria but spilt up to make his own group while still aligning with Al qaeda.
No it really doesn’t matter how many civilians people kill you kill one child or a million purposely doesn’t make you a saint.
He fought in Iraq from 2003 to 2006 and from what most intelligence agency say he was a high ranking deputy in the group, in 2021 he denies he was a leading man but I’m going to say he was high up there no lowly foot soldier would have been able to raise forces of 10s of thousands without a great deal of funding from outside actors.
But like I said maybe he will be the Mandela off Arabs

Yeah you don't need to chatgpt it bro, it creates nice bullet points but the information is not always correct. He wasn't a part of Daesh and much of his Time in Iraq is early on when the Coalition was being fought and when he was in Jail for several years, after which he went to Syria. He was a member of AQ, not Daesh. Baghdadi did not send him to Syria, it was Ayman al-Zawahiri, who he had given Bayah to, and under the directives of the AQ Central Command, your source is incorrect. At first Zawahiri directed some of the funds to be provided to the AQ affiliate in Syria, but thats where the split happened, Baghdadi wanted to merge the Iraqi operation with the Syrian operation, Jolani rejected it, which created the tension, Jolani appealed to Zawahiri who instructed that the Syrian group remain seperate, this is when Baghdadi withdrew his Bayah to Zawahiri and attacked Nusra in a hostile takeover.

I’m going by google and we all know google is all knowing but like I said whatever past actions he may or may have committed I hope he decides to make a better Syria but we all know how are Arab leaders are once they gain that power they rarely let go and if I’m wrong please name me one Arab leader that has yet to leave office after their terms are over.
Im rooting for Syria not for any individual definitely didn’t care for bashar and I don’t care for jolani until I see solid actions from his that he is going to transition to a free society.

New Syrian regime want the same deal Egypt/Jordan/GCC got.....give up Palestine/Muslims and align with US/Israel and reap the benefits. All their signaling since they came to power has been as such and with how battered and war torn Syria is now, their population will accept it. West didnt pump billions into the Syrian civil war merely to get rid of Bashar.

With the US is true.. with Israel it is false..

Strawman through and through, Assad kicked out Hamas from Syria, calling them an "Unwanted Guest" when speaking to US Senators.

The only Palestinian groups in Syria were Assad Loyalists those incorporated into Assad's Shabiha and their job was to destroy Palestinian refugee camps which saw Anti Assad protests. Syria in the entire time the Assad family ruled never fired a bullet at Israel. Syria infact was never used in Anti Israeli operations under Assad, who had an understanding with the Zionist entity. Its no coincidence btw that the Druze factions rebelling as all former Pro Assadists.

Trump’s decision to remove all US sanctions on Syria, going back to 1979, was met with thunderous applause in Riyadh, but has annoyed members of the US government. Some in the US State Department who have advocated for sanctions relief felt sidelined.

Just a few days before the announcement, the State Department’s Syrian advisors were briefing foreign counterparts that the Trump administration was set to keep sanctions on the new government in Damascus, one regional official told Middle East Eye.

Meanwhile, hardline members of Trump’s National Security Council have told counterparts privately that they would try to drag out the sanctions relief process to obtain concessions from Sharaa, one current and one former US official told MEE.

So is this true? No more US sanctions on Syria?

Because Europe and the UN still has sanctions in place.

So Syria can do business with the US but not with the EU?

How will this work out? And what did Syria offer the US in return?

Critical questions, maybe israel proposed recognition and ties (through imposed abraham accords) and/or golan heights to be recognized as Israeli. Nowadays Israel controls 40-50% of Syrian water sources.

How much land in the Golan could potentially be handed over to Israel ? Jew will be happy if he can get a Gaza + west bank sized chunk out of Syria and may leave the poor Palestinians alone.

Trump is making a real estate deal here, if it goes through, the region will see tremendous peace, nobody's ever seen peace like that there.
