TF-X / KAAN / Hürjet Turkish Fighter & Trainer Aircrafts News & Discussions

Initially I read somewhere about delay till March-April 2024 but then it was told that it's fake. I think that's not fake.

This is TFX thread brother, wrong thread. lol Tea Garden thread might be better.
Oops! I have a hundred tabs opened. I mistakenly post this here. My apologies.

Anybody who knows anything about Turkey knows that the deadline is 31. March

I know. On top of that, there's no news nor rumours that the 'delay' is due to technical issues. It's as simple as that, Kaan will fly a couple days before the election takes place. That was pretty obvious for anyone who knows one or two things about politics. Frankly, I would have done the same. lol

Yeah it's such a shame they picked such a weak candidate for İstanbul. I really wanted that smug faced **** gone.

CHP supported Erdo by picking the weakest candidate against him. I think Erdoğan is returning the favor by picking weak candidates in local elections.

Although Erdo himself have been trying to win my vote pretty aggressively. First he sends the most Kemalist astronaut to space and then he denounces the sharia supporters.
Fucking upside down world shit.

Turbine inlet temperature

F-110-GE-129 = 1510 °C
F-135 = 1980 °C

The F-135 engine runs at 1980 degrees, meaning a very high heat signature. The F35 has structural cooling to reduce this signature.

However, with this cooling, the heat signature still cannot decrease to the level of the F110.

F110 works at lower temperatures than F135. This means that it is close to F35 in terms of heat signature.

Critics of the F-35 claim that while its stealth design denies its detection by radars, infrared imagers can easily spot the aircraft at long range, by its heat signature

KAAN with F-110 Engine

If KAAN has a structural cooling system (I know it does), its heat signature would be even lower.

SUPERCRUISE Capability

-- F-35 cannot do supercruise
-- KAAN can not do supercruise with F-110 Engine

TECHNOLOGY

-- BURFIS AESA Radar with GaN technology ... ( 2.000+ T/R modules )

-- with AI-enhanced battlefield awareness ( 360° situational awareness with 4 AESA radars - sensor fusion with EOTS , IRST with unique configuration )

-- high-capacity networking , AI, data fusion

-- excellent EW capabilities with ASELSAN FEWS -- Fighter Electronic Warfare Suite

-- Increased-range BVR Missile (GOKHAN ramjet powered long range networked a2a missile )

-- full data-to-decision (D2D) capability for multi-layered distributed team of diverse manned aircraft working in concert with unmanned types ( KAAN , ANKA-3, KIZILELMA )

-- DIRCM Directed Infrared Countermeasure System by high power LASER
( Only KAAN and SU-57 )

-- HMDS (Helmet Display System) with AI-enhanced battlefield awareness
( Only KAAN and F-35 )

Stealth DESIGN and Composite Material

--Internal weapon bay for stealth flight capability

-- RAM ( Radar Absorber Material )
KAAN with advanced magnetic coating and RAM panel layer it could RCS value for X band 10GHz as 0.003 m2 [ -25dbsqm ]

Air inlet Ducts : KAAN has S routing duct to hide Engine comprassor blades from direct enemy radar signals .. it can be also RAM coating on inner surface of duct

RCS improved to 0.003 m2 [ -25dbsqm ] for the KAAN achieved balance against the F-35 in head to head engagement

Also KAAN has IRST could perform a contribution to engage to F-35 beyond the 34 km

We remind that KAAN assumptions in the calculation are taken in worst value.

RESULT

If F35 is a 5th generation with F-135 Engine
KAAN is also a 5th generation with the F-110 Engine

Real question is will uncle sam be able to derial the project

Turkey needs it's own engine

If KAAN was as capable as Turkiye claims
They would not be spending 25 billion USD in buying and upgrading their F16s

Such a huge amount implies that Turkiye doesn't expect KAAN to enter service any time soon and they will require all their F16s to be upto date in any face off with Greece or Iran

Real question is will uncle sam be able to derial the project

Turkey needs it's own engine
Yes they can

That's also the reason why India is looking at a second engine option for LCA Tejas becoz without a second engine option our Tejas fleet would be susceptible to American arm twisting

Real question is will uncle sam be able to derial the project

Turkey needs it's own engine

Turkiye has already started developing its own 35.000 lbf turbofan Engine for the KAAN Fighter Jet

And the design presented for the Engine that has been under development for 1.5 years to power the KAAN Fighter Jet in 2032

*It says, GE F110 has Turbine inlet Temperature of 1510 Celsius. Also, F135 inlet temperature being able to reach upto 1980 Celsius does not means it always does or even needs to.

If KAAN was as capable as Turkiye claims
They would not be spending 25 billion USD in buying and upgrading their F16s

Israel has F-35s , still ordered more F-15s

Problem is time ,, not technology or capability

USA gives limited F110 Engines for 20 KAAN Fighter Jets as of 2028
Turkish indigenous Turbofan Engine will be ready in 2032-2035 period

and TAI will produce 2 KAAN monthly ( 24 KAAN annualy )

That means . Turkish Air Force could have 100 KAAN Figher Jets with indigenous engine in 2036-2038 period

so Turkish Air Force needs an interim fighter jet solution until 2035 ( for the next 10 years )

therefore , Turkiye buys 40 new F-16 Block70 and modernize its 235 F-16 fleet for $25 billion

also 40 Eurofighters on agenda

F-15 , F-16 , RAFALE , EUROFİGHTER , SU-35 have no any chance against KAAN in BVR combat

First-look , First-fire , First kill capability

KAAN can detect 4.5 gen Fighters from 175-200 km away while they can detect KAAN from 29-47 km away

Thanks to
-- stealth design
-- advanced magnetic coating and RAM panel
-- internal weapon bay
-- BURFIS AESA Radar with GaN technology ... ( 2.000+ T/R modules )
-- with AI-enhanced battlefield awareness ( 360° situational awareness with 4 AESA radars - sensor fusion with EOTS , IRST with unique configuration )

Engagement
KAAN : 175-200 km
F-15EX : 47 km
F-18 : 47 km
EUROFİGHTER : 38 km
RAFALE : 35 km
F-16V : 29 km

BVR Combat

Engagement

F-35 = 37km
KAAN = 34km

KAAN will have same 5th gen capabilities even with GE-F110 Engine

DOGFİGHT

in Dogfight , bulky F-35 can not survive against KAAN

Do we really need another propaganda thread to over hype this type? We have already a regular thread on this surely promising fighter, but another is not needed to re-post again the stuff already posted!

Otherwise, plain and simple answer: NO! With the current F110 it is totally underpowered for such a huge and heavy fighter which is not aimed to match the F-15 as a fourth generation fighter, which is already questionable if you look if it matches the latest F-15EX but even more so far a true fifth generation fighter!
