No society is truly equal and free from hierarchy privileges and discrimination etc.
But the caste discrimination is mostly dead.
You are combining the discrimination based on power, position and money with caste related ones. Even within the so called " dalit" community there is hierarchy issues.

Romas and gypsies in Europe till date..
Extermination of jews.
These all are one or other form of untouchability.
