Not sure about the extent, maybe access to opportunities have not been equal. same with Hindu communities.. not all subgroups have had the same access and opportunities historically..

But that's changing, last 20 years has seen massive progress in this front.. historic injustices are having less of an impact on the ability of a person to get educated, move ahead etc

One of my labourer son is an engineer working in Pune, my electricians sons are working as professionals for western MNC's.. so things are changing..

I am not saying Islam didn't bring good things to South Asia, but it is also true that we had a great civilization before Islam arrived.

Never managed to gain complete control of Bharat, somehow. In fact it adapted to the ways of the gangou.

It still thrives in India, nevermind the current politics. Sadly, post partition, the musalmans of India sorta self segregated themselves, they are at least half to blame for their current situation. Regressive attitudes about educating their women, refusal to join the mainstream. The regressive attitude was not unique to them, but others sorta crawled their way out of the mental shitter. It is still an ongoing project but they're (musalmans of India) are still lagging, but quite a distance. Things are slowly on the mend, though.. Modi Zi and Yogi Zi are leading the charge and empowering them. Future is bright, sunny days ahead !

Islam is great but some Muslims do/did many stupid things. Similarly, Hinduism is great but some Hindus do/did many stupid things. The fact remains that we had great universities and Hindu thinkers in the land long before Islam arrived.
