Trump Officials Announce More Than $11 Billion in Arms Sales for Taiwan

The US has allocated/spent around $200bn on Ukraine. The Europeans have given similar amount so around 0.4trn and the Russians are winning, their terms are being dictated to Ukrajne won'tbe joining Nato nor will it be allowed to host any nato troops

Key thing the US funded Ukrainians to kill themselves US didn't directly get involved the costs are too high.

Now Taiwan has no countries that can directly supply weapons during war time because if they try its direct war.

The US and its allies dont have the stomach to take on China directly for Taiwan which is much greater in strength than Russia in all dimensions. They know its political suicide.

If China attacked US, Japanese bases pre-emptively that's a different story. If then it becomes US, Japan S Korea Australia vs China, Russia, N Korea will also jump in to support China and we are looking at a world war.
The US has sent only $66B in military aid, which is nothing for the US. Russia has been strategically defeated, its core objectives defeated. It’s why they’re about to enter Year 5 of the war. They’ve achieved almost nothing relative to the losses they’ve incurred.

The US will steamroll the Chinese into the face of the planet. You highly underestimate US resolve.

lol “steamroll” China🤣🤣🤣 that’s what MacArthur said too. He got sent packing to retirement lol. The Us navy will get pounded by PLAN and PLRAF now. Thankfully us navy admirals don’t think like you.

CSIS estimates China will be defeated in any Taiwan scenario losing over 135+ ships and 90% of its amphibious ships. The US is not getting into a land war with China. You sink the PLAN, you defeat the Chinese.

As for the Korean war, the US liberated the South. It’s obvious who the more prosperous nation is today. The Chinese also suffered vastly more casualties than the US. The Chinese only achieved the element of surprise, then got pushed back to the 38th out of Seoul. The US achieved strategic victory in the end, as the South is closely allied to the US and US military forces operate out of the nation today.

You don’t know what you’re talking about. With 90% losses in its amphibious transport, China loses every time. You can’t reinforce and resupply your forces with those catastrophic losses.

An CSIS estimates China loses against Taiwan/US in their war game analysis.
Baghdad Bob, a loss of just 30% in an amphibious operation is already considered a high-risk operation with a high probability of strategic failures in achieving its objectives.

But China wouldn't be foolish enough to invade on day 0.

This CSIS war game had one big flaw it assumed PLAN had limited to no ASW capabilities, most of those PLAN losses are by subs.
Worse still, he fails to properly assess that a war of this magnitude could lead to a war of attrition over a very long period, where Chinese industrial capacity will overwhelm the Americans and all their allies in the region.

All your chest thumping will come down to this, put these words in stone, if China decides to take a military option with Taiwan the US Navy along with Japan wont show up. I said before your leaders will not stomach 000's dead marines, no US president would. Rest is just fantasy.

China could take Taiwan in a few days and the US won't be able to do much. Even if the US provided another 100 billion worth of arms. It just won't make any difference. The Americans know this very well.

It means invasion of Taiwan is dangerously close. But it is still not enough. China can unleash colossal firepower on Taiwan and all this little investment is futile. Surrender is the best option , we have seen the Russian - Ukraine war and after millions casualties Ukraine and the West have realised negotiation and a deal is the only proper outcome to achieve .
I believe that only after 2028 will the hypothesis of an invasion truly be approaching critical levels, and we will see consistent proof that an invasion would occur, because partial or total preparations could not be hidden.

What China can do now is have the capacity to carry out a lockdown/quarantine on the island without provoking a conflict, as it has already demonstrated in exercises this year and last year.

China doesn't want to invade Taiwan, they see the Taiwanese as their own people. The economic impact would also be huge given the disruption it will cause to the world economy. But for China its territorial integrity is a red line which it can't allow to cross the implications of that is too much more than economic mess.

So they will build their forces get those 3 battle groups operational and make the cost of war so bad for the US that they wont contemplate supporting a Taiwanese independence.

What a stupid take, the US will target every inch of Chinese naval production facilities, ports, aircraft and missile production facilities. That’s why having allies is a force multiplier for the US. The US will be fighting on Chinas shores and not ours. China has limited capability to target US production. China can’t surge and resupply forces anywhere near American shores.

Lol, if Americans do that on Chinese soil, how do know China won't use nukes ? Typical American arrogance as in the Korean war think China will just sit idly by to get obliterated.

This will upset China. I believe in Chinese reunification with Taiwan.

There is a strategy called Denial of Access/Area.

Are you familiar with it?

I'm not convinced by that statement. China doesn't want to invade, but if necessary, they will. The cause would be the declaration of independence, but Taiwan is increasingly being pulled towards becoming a declared enemy of the PRC. Furthermore, if Xi Jinping wants to place his name among the great politicians of the PRC, returning Taiwan under his control would give him the opportunity to rank second only to Mao.

The path of the Republic of Iran seems increasingly accelerated, and this will continue until at least 2028.

How and with what? China has the capacity to take war to the US, is it a risk the US is willing to take? With Israel taking huge resources the US fire power is not what it was and the opportunists are studying and watching.
