Turkey Syria - News & Updates

Greece was one of the biggest advocates for Assad inside the EU, and a proponent of normalization with Assad.

The play was to normalize with Assad in hopes of using an alliance with him against Turkey. As well as the refugee matter.

The current visit is damage control to salvage that policy, as the Assad plan failed.

Yeah I will give them a pass I skimmed through the articles fertilizer trying to bring Syria back from the abyss and you do know most of those articles are from 5 to 7 years stretching the truth a bit. I got nothing against Greece honestly nothing against turkey everyone should be trying to work together to make a peaceful transition……but yeah calling out manipulation of information

Whats that have to do with anything. I'm just pointing out Greece was one the states in the EU that had better relations with Assad and was working to rehabilitate. It backfired when the regime fell, now they are trying to salvage it, so as to not be completely outmaneuvered by Turkey. Its not like it was a secret.

Yeah I don’t think that has anything really to do with it we could add Russia who killed many of those people fighters leadership and civilians Greece trading with Syria much like turkey was trading with Syria…….borders I don’t think Turkey closed Syrias border I think turkey got a lot out of it much more than Greece………but again like I said distorting facts and trying to antagonize other people is kind of ehhhhhhbb but you do you son

Its you who is distorting facts. All border crossings with the exception of those from Rebel Held Syria were closed. Of course there was trade with Syrians in Rebel held areas regardless thats not what I'm talking about I'm talking about the diplomatic side and the rehabilitation of Assad.

Yeah I am just stating how easily one can if they wish to do it we can argue if turkey had closed its borders with Syria they would have fallen quicker like I said of course I’m distorting facts only thing Greece and turkey were trying to do was to help Syrian civilians but indirectly they helped bashar stay in power for longer but we can argue turkey was more at fault. I personally think making sure civilians don’t starve to death is beyond politics so big applause to turkey and Syria

lmao, how did Turkey help Bashar stay in power. You seem clueless, Neither the Pro Rebel side nor the Pro Assadist side would accept that premise.

but we can argue turkey was more at fault.

At fault for what? helping Bashar stay in power?? Turkey did no such thing.

I personally think making sure civilians don’t starve to death is beyond politics so big applause to turkey and Syria

What are you talking about dude? who was starving in Syria? You don't seem very knowledgeable with regards to Syria.

That doesn't make sense...

By giving him an economic line distorting facts

……okay

That statistic site you pulled out, if there are any numbers, its with relation to trade between Turkey and Rebel Area, where they are extensive trade. There was no movement of good directly between Assad areas and Turkey. If goods did come to Turkey from Syria and vice versa, they passed through Rebel areas and then to Assad Area, or vice versa.

Yeah basically just saying if you close all borders to a country you hurt the civilian population more than the government….but yeah that’s basically the point I was doing making myself just as annoying as hyper man
