Haftar Madkhalis are straight up zealots in enforcing their outlooks when they took over mosques from the Maliki Asharis who are the traditional Sunnis/Sufis of Libya, and these guys especially hated Misrata where the Libyan Hanafi Maturidi Turks are. They did the usual shit Daesh did in Mosul, started destroying shrines and beating up people from doing Dhikr and banned the Mawlid started attacking people associated with Sufi Tariqas.. The only difference between them and Daesh was, they were taking order from Saudi and not attacking embassies and other shit Daesh does or calls people to do. They even had the Daesh style mass graves. There was a great deal of tension they caused.

This is probably the only good chance Syrian government has to assert control over nation and remove Israeli/US actors such as YPG and Hijri Militia.

Turkey/Arabs/New Syrian government should understand that.

Syrian government won't survive as a functional government if they're restricted to a small portion of Syria. They also won't have any leverage at negotiations table and Syria will be under mercy of Israeli attacks/US sanctions. Unless Syria asserts a new reality by taking back entire country and US/Israel would more or less have to live with it. Israel would have more trouble destabilizing Syria.

No, nothing happening with Israel Iran right now, but if it were, it would be the perfect distraction. The longer you let the PKK stay in Syria, the more it intrenches and the more they have time to plot and prepare.

They need to be dealt with decisively, it honestly should have happened right after Assad fell. We waited 8 months to do this in a soft approach, but these guys are just buying for time, like Hakan Fidan said.

That extra time has given them opportunities to dig in and also collaborate with Hijri and Israel. And also reach out to the Alawite separatists and make contact there.

Whats needed is a decisive operation like in Afrin or Tal Abyad. It doesn't need to be extensive, just the areas around Ain Al Arab and down to the Tishrin dam and the most of the areas that are majority arab that they control will collapse.
