Crazy Turks....

During 1990s Turkey and Syria got almost at a war due to the PKK's presence in Syria. The Turkish 2nd army started mobilizing toward the Syrian border with full pomp and grandeur as an ultimatum was delivered to Hafiz Asad. I got extremely worried, and it became such a source of enjoyment for my Turkish colleagues! Their views were simple: we'll take Syria with a spit!! They've been taunting me ever since....

Just a small feedback I got from a friend who flew T-38s as a student sent from Pak to Turkey. Years ago, one of the TuAF students touched wings with another aircraft during formation familiarisation flights. Instead of grounding the student, they put him through a review board and granted him extra training. In PAF, if a student did that during their advanced jet training stage.....it will be suspension from flying.

Has its good and bad sides, maybe not comparable. But that "experienced" Soloturk demo pilot almost killed the crowd.
In Turkey, it's called "ADAM gibi Adam" - a man like a MAN.....

You need to understand the "macho" part in the Turkish males' psyche! My Turkish friends' favorite boastful talk was how to drive a car after taking a number of Raki (a hard liquor with 45% alcohol level) shots!! Not every Muslim male is born the same....

Turkish Air Force which will greet us in 2030s, will have an enormous fleet structure that uses 2 different Ramjet BVR missiles and has 300+ AESA radars on air, more than half of fleet has IRST and entire fleet can share real-time data with mostly national links

Thanks to the US, Iran and Russia: This is how you challenge Electronic Warfare!

The TOLUN Ammunition developed by ASELSAN hit its target despite being exposed to intense electronic warfare as required by the test scenario!

The Turkish Armed Forces frequently encountering electronic warfare systems belonging to the US, Iran and Russia in the battlefields in Syria and Iraq.

Turkish products that are created thanks to this experience are being developed with advanced electronic warfare protection from birth.

▪️ ANKA-3 will fire from its internal weapon station in November. This is very important in terms of invisibility. We will start testing with the Turkish Air Force in mid-2025.

▪️ In 2025, the prototypes of our two KAAN test aircraft P1-P2 will be finished and their tests will have started.

▪️ P3-P4-P5 are coming in 2026-2027 and our aim is to complete their development very quickly and reach our delivery target to Turkish Air Force in 2028.

▪️ HÜRJET's 2nd prototype has started its engine, it will make its first flight soon

There is serious work from 3 countries on HÜRJET, even at the contract stage. We will share it in the not too distant future.

Big News! I didn't even see a photo of the second prototype, and its already apparently at the engine fitting stage. lol

I think we are nearing the end line with Hurjet very soon, not too many milestones left for the basic trainer version atleast.

Its already flown subsonic, supersonic, what else is left? lol

You think they do weapons tests with the basic trainer model?

Or will that be tested with a light attack/Lead In variant?

edit: I'm eagerly looking forward to the second Anka 3 prototype, i think thats going to be the next significant milestone for that project.

Turkey will not pay $23 Billion, thats a theoretical price for which the authorization was given by Congress. The Actual money is far less, b/c no every package will be bough, the amounts of jets bough will be lower, and Turkey will want the money offset by having the jets be produced in Turkey under License from Lockheed.

The upgrade program for about 150 Turkish F-16 Fighter Jets

-- MURAD AESA Radar
-- FEWS Electronic Warfare Suite
-- Mission computer
-- IFF System
-- New cockpit color displays
-- New system interface unit
-- hydraulic fuel gauge
-- inertial navigation system
-- T-Link
-- 9681 V/UHF airborne radio
-- ASELPOD Targeting Pod
and many more

Also integation of Turkish missiles/bombs SOM , GOKDOGAN , BOZDOGAN ,HGK , LGK , KGK , etc

I'm solely interested in the Viper to see how the F-16V measures against the F-16 Ozgur 2. To see how much of a difference there is in performance of the AESA radars and other subsystems. Will be a good benchmark as to how well the Ozgur 2 upgrades are compared to the latest F-16 Variants from the US.

Turkish MURAD AESA Radar will have similar performance to APG-83 AESA Radar on F-16 VIPER

The ALP-300G early warning AESA Radar network together with Boeing E-7T AEWC and HAVASOJ stand off jammer Aircraft developed by Turkiye are the things that will make the real difference against Greek F-16 VIPER Jets

also 200 km GOKHAN ramjet powered long range and networked air to air missile to engage on F-16V from very long distance

together with 250+ km SIPER Block-2 air defense Missile (with link-16 and JREAP-C datalinks ) for network centric warfare capability to use the entire radar network from MURAD AESA Radar on F-16 OZGUR , ALP-300G early warning AESA Radar and E-7T AEWC's AESA Radar

and Greek F-16Vs to undergo intense electronic warfare suppression by HAVA SOJ stand off jammer Aircraft

The latest F-16 costs as much as an F-35, or possibly even more.

SİPER Product-1 System entered the inventory

The deterrent power of STEEL DOME, SİPER Product-1 has entered the inventory.

Technical Specifications
• Maximum Interception Range : 100 km - 150 km
• Maximum Interception Altitude : 30 km
• Azimuth Coverage : 360°
• Number of Targets That Can Be Tracked : 100
• Battery level number of targets that can be engaged : 10
• Battery level number of Missiles that can be guided : 20

With the dual pulse rocket engine used to keep the hit probability value high in SIPER product-1, the missiles can enter the terminal phase with the second engine fired, maintaining high speed and TVC (thrust vector control) capability. This high speed helps the missile to hit the target without missing the target against high G maneuvers in the final phase.

Are there plans for beyond Siper 2?

I remember reading something.
