in 2000 ( 25 years ago ) Turkiye had the 2nd strongest Air Force in NATO after USA
Turkish Air Force : 240 F-16
-- excellent for multi-role
-- good in dogfight
-- BVR combat with AIM-120
The UK : 250 Panavia Tornado
-- poor performance for dogfight
France : 150 Mirage-2000 and 100 Mirage F-1
-- limited air to ground attack capability

The 2nd strongest Air Force again in NATO by 2030-2032 ?
If the US lifts CAATSA sanctions and delivers F-35s to Türkiye, the Turkish Air Force will once again become the second strongest in NATO from 2030 onwards
1-- 200 F-16s will be modernized with MURAD AESA Radar , FEWS EW Suite and 185-200+ km GOKBORA - GOKHAN ramjet powered air to air Missiles ( OZGUR-2 upgrade )
2-- 29 F-16 Block50+ will be armed with 160+ km AIM-120C8 air to air Missile
3-- 40 F-16V ( the deal is signed and officially in effect )
4-- 40 F-35A ( the USA certainly consider selling the F-35s back to Turkiye )
5-- 20 Eurofighter T-4 ( deliveries in 2030 )
Turkiye also plans to purchase 12 Eurofighter T-3A from Qatar and 12 Eurofighter T-3 from Oman
6-- 40 KAAN Block10 Fighter Jets with GE F-110 Engine
7-- 50 KIZILELMA unmanned stealth Fighter Jets
